Further information:

RL930k speakers by ME Geithain - widely regarded as among the best studio monitors available. I bought these new from Sonic Purity about 5 years agao.  Current RRP is $16100 at Sonic Purity and similar amounts from suppliers in Europe.

The sound is fantastic, incredible imaging and perfect balance. They go quite loud too - I've had them in rooms from 21sqm up to 42sqm and they can absolutely fill those spaces.   without strain. The cardioid bass design means there is limited reflection of bass off the back walls so they are quite unfussy about room placement.

Shipping  within Australia included in price.

details of the speaker are here: https://www.me-geithain.de/de/rl-930k.html

I will be listing the Leidtke Metaldesign stands separately, but if you want them with the speakers we I'm happy to discuss a deal.

The below is from the Sonic Purity website:

The RL 930K has been designed for both the professional user and for the discerning music enthusiast. The directivity index has been optimised to listening distances between 2.5 and 5 metres. Low and middle frequencies are reproduced by a specially designed 10-inch cone loudspeaker. In the treble range, the RL930K uses three vertically arranged 1-inch tweeters that are positioned coaxially in front of the woofer/midrange system. The RL930K, a two-way studio monitor, features our K Technology (cardioid radiation characteristics in the bass range), which has proven reliable itself for many years. This technology makes it easy to position the loudspeaker, even with respect to bass difficulties, as it considerably reduces distracting rearward-directed room reflections. Thanks to the powerful integrated analogue amplifiers and the high system sensitiveness, this loudspeaker combines the flawless homogeneity of a two-way system with a dynamic range that is otherwise limited to mostly larger three-way designs. The result is that non-linear distortions stay extremely low even at high reproducing levels. Moreover, the loudspeaker features group-delay-time optimisation. Summing up all the constructive measures, the RL930K achieves the seamless sound compatibility with all other products made in the our manufacture. The highly neutral tone quality, excellent spatial performance and depth arrangement, together with fatigue-free monitoring of even most complex sound events are typical ME Geithain characteristics of this loudspeaker.

The power amplifier module with electronic crossover is integrated into the rear wall of the cabinet and can be swung out for maintenance purposes. An intermittent LED signalises overmodulation. If the maximum level is exceeded, the output level will be attenuated by 20 dB in order to protect the components from overloading. For adapting the frequency response to the acoustic characteristics of the reproduction room, a low-frequency room compensation can be achieved within two continuously variable frequency bands.

These will probably be the best speakers I ever own, so I feel quite mixed about moving them but after 5 years I feel the desire to experiment some more. Stereotest.de describes these as "relaxed, neutral and spatially extremely natural sound with a lot of volume and precise bass."

Hi

Yes they need a preamp with XLR output. I have mostly been running with a streamer and a DAC pre (I use RME ADI). I've also used a NAD c658, and a couple of other combinations.

They look like pieces of furniture, workmanship is outstanding on these beauties.

If they sound anything like they look they will be awesome.

They look like pieces of furniture,

Thanks yeah, the construction is really nice. All sides have bookleaf veneer, and the rounded corners are just perfect. I can't remember how much I paid, but it was like an extra thousand or two to get the real wood. And in my opinion they needed to look that good to do justice to the sound!
