Maybe just google Lightning DS screenshots. Most people like it on IOS . It does look better on IPadOS. Noted. Similar to BluOS in that sense. It's the standard API within their own OS interface. It does look a bit nicer than BluOS though. But from what you originally wrote I thought it was the full blown Amazon Music HD experience within Lightning DS but it's not. Ideal would be some kind of 'Amazon Connect' like Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect. I think that's where everything is headed. Qobuz has Qobuz Connect coming (no timeline yet).

Lightning DS is an ecosystem, you can’t just download apps on it they have to be integrated In any case, you could have just read about it in the link I posted for peoples general interest Edited December 27, 2021 by Niktech

What I'm saying is I mis-interpreted when you wrote: 1 hour ago, Niktech said: in the case of Lightning DS Amazon is actually integrated within Auralic ecosystem as with Quobuz, Tidal and HD Tracks. It’s a completely different experience. I wouldn't say it's a completely different experience to BluOS, apart from slightly different UI.

wolster Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 I actually enjoyed the Amazon Music trial but just cancelled due to the payment per stream to artists, as shown in the Spotify thread. I'll stick to Qobuz. It's an issue that, as music lovers, we should be aware of, IMHO. 3
onthebeach Posted March 5, 2022 Posted March 5, 2022 I've recently switched from Tidal to Amazon. Definitely a step up in SQ imo esp in Ultra. I've made some streaming playlists on my desktop which are available to play on desktop app, browser & android phone. But for some reason they are not showing on my A&K sp1000 DAP .... which is the source where I actually listen to amazon music, mostly downloaded & offline but occasionally online streaming. The playlists on the DAP are different. They are all on the same Amazon music account though . Any idea why this may be the case & is there a way to get the playlists I make on the amazon desktop or browser to appear also on the DAPs amazon online playlists? Its easy to make playlists on the desktop or browser but rather tedious & cumbersome to do them on the DAP so I was hoping the playlists I make on the desktop would also appear on the DAP. I cant see why they don't when I'm on the same account & online with online music selected.
onthebeach Posted March 5, 2022 Posted March 5, 2022 Hold the phone I think I've got it. I've just refreshed My Music in settings on the dap & I can see the playlists now
Linolad Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Hi All, I have been using Amazon Music Unlimited for about 2 or 3 months so far and I am generally pleased with the results. I have a Bluesound Vault (1st version) which I have used for the last 6 years or so which is controlled by my Iphone or a couple of Ipads as an interface. For the last 2 or 3 years it has been connected to my amp and speakers via a Project Pre Box S2 Digital (Preamp & DAC). I mention this part as it has a display that shows the sampling rate of the source material. Previously I have also subscribed to Tidal, Spotify and more recently Qobuz. I have appreciated the audio quality of all three that have genuine high def 24 bit 44.1, 96 & 192 and Spotify was pleasant if lacking in detail. I have never tried Apple Music as it has no interface for the Bluesound ecosystem currently. I have a love hate relationship with Streaming services, but these days they are all solid performers irrespective of whether I use them at home, out walking or in the car. I think I will stick with Amazon as it represents the best value to me at $12 a month. However given my love hate relationship* with the streaming model, I will probably stop at some point, (and then of course resume later if history is any indicator!) Cheers Mark *I hate having no control over the album art, haphazard layout, doubling and tripling of the same piece of music, difficulty of muti disc sets, lack of information on any piece of music and general feeling of not being in control of a locked down system 1 1
Jovan.s1987 Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 I've been using Amazon Music Unlimited the past week, have a 4 months free subscription. Having coming from using Spotify & before that Apple music, I'm pleased with the quality & app use. I'll probably continue using it after the 4 months is up. 1
Nada Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 I'm trying Amazon HD streaming now with the current four month offer. Its been easy and took just two minutes to sign on and get the app running. The app search function is fast but basic. The music loads quickly and playback is smooth with no stutters. Initially Amazon sounded ordinary but disabling any processing in the app and more importantly allowing "exclusive mode" to shut out the PC manipulation did wonders. Amazon lossless is now nearly as good as Qobuz. The difference isn't different track versions, sample rate or the app. I'm streaming 44.1/16 with music that has just one release and routing both apps in exclusive mode through Foobar to do upsampling, filtering, and EQ. The Foobar setup makes CD files on my hard drive sound just as good as high-def 192/24 tracks. So its not Foobar causing an issue. Qobuz seem to be delivering something really good to my PC and ears. So back to Amazon. It should sound just as good as Qobuz. - so how to make it sound a bit better? 1
captain starlight Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 Hi folks, simple question - how do you queue up podcasts to play consecutively in the Amazon prime music app? (I have a Amazon prime subscription). I drive a lot and I like to listen to podcasts continuously play - I can define podcast episodes to a playlist, but how do I make that playlist to play. Also, what are presets? For the life of me, I can only get the podcasts to play one at a time, then when one episode is finished I have to manually select another. This is so annoying as I want to queue up a series of podcasts to automatically play one after another. But I just can’t seem to work it out. any ideas?
Chigurh Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 What's the best way of playing Amazon Music in the car? I'm using an iPhone and my car has Apple Carplay. The app is Carplay compatible but as far as I can see it does not seem to have voice control (Alexa or Siri)
