May I ask who Audiolund used as for shipping as mine seems to be going a strange way about getting here. and the gaps between updates also seems weird.

Danny said he using this company as it was a faster delivery for about the shipping cost as the one I picked .

Yeh i am just anxious to get them in the system.

What have you ordered ?

I've another XTreme I2S cable on the way. Because I changed DAC's my previous I2S cables are not compatible. Currently using a Red WireWorld Starlight 7 HDMI cable which is my backup and my second favorite cable overall anyway. The Audiolund XTreme is better to my ears though. More natural and detailed overall though there's not a massive amount in it all up. I'm just a fussy bugger  :)

I actually prefer both of those to the Tubulous Argentus I2S cable which was stupid expensive. Got to get around to selling that hey.

Cables arrived today great quality .

Unfortunately  my plan of getting the signiture with the UK plug backfired as I dont no if you remember i was getting the the UK plug so as not to waist the free SR Purple I got for UK plugs but they arrived I realized that the Fuse is in the inside of this plug unlike the one that I have which means dismantling  the whole plug to get to it and I am not confident in not damaging anything .

Unless I find some one in Australia who can do it for me , Matt can you recommend anyone??

Try talking to your local sparky and ask nicely if willing to do it.  At worst, they'd slug you with a 1hr's labour and whilst at it, see if you can get it tested.

The Electrician who services our village agreed to do it for me .

I was not sure what to expect but the results is amazingly good , Dynamic range, clarity, instruments have their own place.

But when I though about it the Signature PC replaces a very stock power cord which went to my Power Board which supplies 2 large quad tubed monoblocs  1CDP 1DAC,  so I now believe that the stock power cord just could not cope as I noticed every now and then momentary loss of music which now dose not happen at all.

I really only have 1 cable that needs to be upgraded now  as I recently upgrade 3 Cables with the Audio Principe Signatures  and the Recent 2 from Audiolund leaving the one from the wall to be done, but do Audiolund do AU plugs? may be but he may have to order them special , I am not sure about the other brands but Furutech do AU plugs and he dose use Furutech plugs as well as the other brands.

No harm in asking I guess. My BIT uses US plugs so I’ve had no reason to ask

Sorry BIT?    Are you saying your socket on the wall is also US

Oh I think I worked it out doh

So what Power Cord do you have from the wall to the BIT ?

Posted (edited)

Andyr made up a short shielded 30cm cable on an angled HPM plug to go from the wall to the BIT. It has enough wire for 10A so isn't holding anything back.

I asked Danny he said good timing he has just introduced the first models with AU plugs from Furutech ( same model Rhodium as I have on my Audio Principe power cords) and the Viborg brand will be coming in a month or 2.

Actually, Matt - I'm pretty sure that had 30a wiring!

That may be a better option for me also as  I am watching my pennies at the moment and  the Signature with AU Furutech plugs is $530 with out shipping from Audiolund

Tried my system with the pwoerboard in rather than balanced isolation transformer..... Seems I have hum in my system again a few DB higher.... the same issue as I had before I got the BIT so the Thor DRM95/20A doesn't fix that issue. Basically the Thor + BIT is the perfect solution.

Hi Gav, it might pay to point out to your Mr Lee that any Viborg AU style plug will need to be certified to AS/NZS3112 to be legally sold into Aus or NZ. It would be unfortunate if he pays up the $$ for a nice quality plug like the Viborg and is then unable to use them on his cables.

I'll keep an eye out for those Viborg AU plugs.... Convert the power board I had done. I only run the streamer, OCXO clock, power amp and DAC off US cables in the main system. Everything else runs AU plugs via a separate power board which hangs of a power board which is in line Furman AC210 AE also hooked up to the balanced isolation transformer. I'm thinking this board might be better used there once converted to AU plugs.

i see the main problem with most australian 3 pin power plugs sold from overseas is that they do not have the insulation at the rear of the active and neutral blades  therefore they would not be compliant  with aust regulations, furutech aust plugs are  but are so expensive.
