dastrix Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Just tried to obtain a DAC from them to demo (Tony the owner) - refused to allow me to pay the full cost to demo in my home, only allowing me to demo it on his equipment in his office Whats the point?! Talk about uninterested in a sale We all know DACs, CD players and so on are very subjective so its difficult to evaulate a product in someones place & using someone elses gear..

These sorts of things can only realistically be tried in your own system for a proper evaluation. I generally work on the principal of full payment up front with a 14 day return guarantee as long as everything is still pristine if not satisfied. The counter argument of course if you return it, is that the dealer is then left with something that is not really 'new' and may have to be sold off at a discount as a demo unit.

No complaints from Len Wallis or Dlite so far - dlite was more than helpful. It's this kinda thing people want in such a small, specialised market place. Tony did himself no favours, which is really disappointing as I really wanted to listen to it.
Kevin Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Tony was happy to let me home demo a PS Audio Power Plant 500 a few years ago. We had no concerns with the return of our credit card chit when we did not buy it. We had bought quite a few cds at his shop and had been there often enough for him to remember our names. Kevin

Sounds more like a box seller, not interested in long term customer relationships. Don't waste your time or energy with them. cheers 2sheds

Would have liked 3 DAC's for a shoot out tomorrow to really work out which one I want..

He once gave me 3 DACs (Audio Alchemy - engineers have now become Channel Islands Audio) to live with for a couple of days. It worked - I like the most expensive and bought it. I was happy and so was he. cheers 2sheds
