@greigw

any further updates?

Not been listening much. But when I do, I still think this is the best my system has sounded. Actually, I was thinking about replacing my speaker cables for all copper (I'm using Aurealis 303) as my system was a little bright for a while after all fuses where installed, but things have mellowed enough that the itch has gone (for now). Bare in mind that my speakers I think are a bit bright and my current room is pretty reflective.

Anyone replaced the Telos X2 with QSA Yellow, curious to know what the experience has been. want to understand if there is a significant improvement to make it worthwhile.

Plan is to replace the Telos X2 on my NAD C658 streamer.

QSA Yellow is within my price range.

I did exactly that. X2 in my Innuos streamer to the Yellow. To compare the two I think the X2 is big and bold and a little rough around the edges, but with good extension and dynamics. The Yellow brought much better refinement, focus and resolution.

It’s been awhile and did the upgrade from x2 to yellow qsa in the headphone amplifier, specifics escape me but a worthwhile exercise.

In short yes in my case as I have optimized all the bits and pieces, so qsa was the final touch so to speak. X2 vs qsa yellow, definitely yellow.

Hey, I just stumbled across this thread.

While not quite on the topic of red and black, I have put QSA yellow subwoofer variety fuses in my pair of JL Audio e112s, which replaced the stock ceramic fuses.  These subs are already fed power from a high rank power conditioner and Shunyata etron Alpha HC cables.

Putting aside the immediate change, the bass response in now far more accurate, articulate and impactful.  The peak amplitude is more defined, the duration of notes is shorter, the dissipation of amplitude is faster.  Fast electric bass passages are now a lot easier to distinguish the individual notes being played.  The sound initially seems more 'lean' in the low end, but I feel that is because there was excessive low end before because I can assure you it is bold, and powerful when the music material calls for it.  A benefit I didn't count on is that there is a reduction in excess bass energy which really helps the room acoustics and allows higher frequencies to be more clear and open.

I put this down to a less distorted impulse response.  This is also achieved with reducing noise floor, such as the ethernet stuff I have been doing a lot if.

In terms of comparisons to things one can do to a subwoofer, these fuses are not in the league of the power cables but easily comparable to the overall impact of upgrading a power outlet from generic to a decent Furutech, or mounting the sub on IsoAcoustics.

Got a nasty surprise when looking at my new integrated amp..........it has 2 x 5A Slow Blow Fuses for Left and Right channels. 4x QSA Yellows @ $325 AUD each. Plus I void the warranty if I lift the lid on the amp. Dont think so!

Oh, man that's a lot of fuses. Quite a few on the PS Audio forums have gone heavily into multiple fuses inside amplifiers. As many as 8 at a time. They're big time SR Purple fuse lovers, and are now replacing them all with the new SR Master fuse. Nobody seems to have tried QSA.

QSA doesn't seem to have a US Distributor at the moment. Tweek Geek in Texas no longer stocks them.......possibly online sales/orders through the UK and Europe (Kemp) hasn't helped. SR and Audio Magic seem to be the big US players.

Just ordered a pair of QSA IEC "Jitters" in YELLOW. Just released they are adaptors which fit over the power cord IEC and act on current as it flows. More details at FutureshopUK. QSA have developed them for customers who are not into fuse replacement etc. My Esoteric SACD player has a very complicated power circuitry design which does not use conventional fuses. My Integrated has several internal fuses ...expensive QSA replacement cost. Anyway the QSA IEC Jitter adaptors work for my requirements.

I’ll be very excited to hear your impressions. I was looking at these recently and I’m intrigued.

Yes the design concept really intrigues me. Blowing some of those QSA fuses has always worried me and probably other folk as well. The older HI FI Tuning Fuses were a nightmare for breaking down.

Not sure what the internal structure of the QSA IEC Jitter is ? Is it a fuse or have they applied the QSA Gemstones in the design. Anyway looks the goods to me. Be a while (10 days by DHL Express) before I can give an opinion.

If you think that's good.....the better option is to treat your cables with the qsa treatment! Not for the faint hearted cost wise but it's the ultimate solution!

QSA are really getting into Jitter IEC, Jitter XLR and lots of other connector types. Cannot track down any explanation of "Jitter" yet. Also the QSA "Gemstones" and their applications are being given a fair bit of airplay. Only sold by Tweek Geek in Texas so FEDEX postage makes it an ouch purchase.

The QSA Yellow Jitter IEC's arrived from the UK (See photos). Really well built and are a tight (read good) fit into my SACD Player and Integrated. Impressed from the get-go ......bass quality is noticeably improved.....lots of clarity and detail. QSA say about 50 hours for them to settle. Great so far. Neat little PELICAN case for each IEC.

To keep the economy kicking on I have a pair of QSA Yellow Jitter XLR's on the way...due to arrive Friday next.

Interesting to see the QSA Jitter products being released at the moment. LAN Jitters in the various colours from YELLOW upwards; IEC JITTERS and XLR Jitters both again YELLOW upwards. Also an ORG range with additional treatment levels.

QSA were aware of customer concerns re their fuse range......warranty considerations and fuse damage etc.....hence the emergence of the "Jitter" product range. The UK seems to be where these QSA developments are occurring. Very little info on the US outlet...Tweek Geek.
