Dave in AZ Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 My first post here and I’m damned sure that it is a ‘rookie’ question at that. I came across these Amps a few years back and stuffed them in the garage. Took a look at them and thought that they might work out as a general purpose Amp. Of course, I Googled the name of the manufacturer and found out that they made upper end gear. They were also out of business due to the owner passing away. As far as these Amps go, I know absolutely nothing about them. The almighty Google search engine couldn’t even produce a single photo or any specs. As you can see, they were probably an early product of the company. I’m speculating that someone here might have some insights into these mystery Amps. Note: Made in the USA. You don’t see that too often
PicoWattson Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 If they are working, count your blessings and count down to when they stop working. The later Musicians although sounding spectacular were notoriously unreliable. Unfortunately the now departed designer John Ulrick was very secretive with his circuitry and if the 600 employed similar Chinese custom made modules they may also end up as historical paperweights. Enjoy them while you can. Spectron are not alone in the long list of abandoned audiophile brands that many of us hope will last the distance.
