Hey all happy Friday !

ive last week become the owner of some krix neo Phoenix and matching centre woohoo which are all currently plugged into my Denton 4500h

Question 1 - I have a Vincent poweramp mk1 that I want to power the fronts but wanted to know if I can use the below cables I obtained when buying the power amp ? The reason I ask is because the speakers are 6ohm and I believe when using bi wire it will half the load thus 3ohm and the poweramp says it only goes to 4ohm

question 2 - it is more advisable to use two channels to bridge power to the new purchased speakers ?

Photos of new speakers included for some joy hehe

thanks all

Disclaimer: not an expert

1) make sure you remove the bridging plates from the speaker binding posts, and you should be fine (the end with 4 plugs goes to the speaker). The halving of impedance occurs with amp bridging (bridge tied load = "BTL"), not with this type of biwiring.

2) this might cause a problem, so I wouldn't.

as @sakabatou says - you don't halve the load the amplifier "sees" when you passively bi-wire like you propose with those speaker wires.

The Vincent amp is 2x150W into 8ohms - which should be ample power for the Krix at 88dB sensitivity to run them very loud.

On my quick googleweb search it doesn't appear that the Vincent power amp is designed to be bridged (mostly just by looking at the front and rear photos of the amp, and noting that there were no switches or connections identified for bridging the amp).

Amp bridging is a feature far more common in pro amplifiers - where prodigious power is often needed for sound reinforcement scenarios.

I don't think you need to consider bridging options for your new speakers.

cheers,

Mike
