The last couple of time I have accessed hires digital files from the HDtracks website  over the last week or so, I haven’t had to use a VPN. Has anyone else noticed this?

Mmm, interesting. I have been using HDtracks for years. It has always been geo-blocked to Oz in the past

I don't think I've ever used a VPN for that............

Same here. Have looked at that site on and off over the years and never had to use a VPN.

Just had a look in my email and I registered with that site in 2011.

I could always use the site, the issue comes up that you are restricted with respect to what you can buy from there.

Yes, perhaps that better expresses what I am trying to explore. You can always visit the site, its just that you generally haven't been able to download files without resorting to a VPN.

What I am saying is that I haven't needed a VPN to download files in the last couple of weeks, don't think it's the albums that I have purchased. Might try another one soon to check

Interesting. Funnily enough when they first opened they had no restrictions, and the regional restrictions came years later. I have plenty of albums I downloaded from their earlier days.

I have used HDtracks for years and normally use a VPN to download tracks that are geoblocked,  you will find a lot of content on HDtracks is not blocked and you do not require a VPN but this comes down to region copyright more than anything.   Simple to check just access HDtracks without your VPN turned on and select random albums you will find a lot will say not available in your area but any number of them are not blocked and you just purchase and download.

On a side note since subscribing to Qobuz 2 months ago I have not purchased a single album from HDtracks and I generally will purchase 3 to 4 albums every month !

I see now when selecting a few different artists.

Goes to show I have not purchased from them for quite some time. :)
