I can cast Spotify Free via my Samsung TV with Google Chromecast attached to the TV. Also handy if you want to use other services such as You Tube, Catch up TV etc.

Spotify on the TV will show you all the artwork and extra details as well as playback of the music of course.

If this is what you need?

Thanks,  but you'd to need to have the TV on Spotify to do this? if so that's not what I need.

I would like to bring Spotify free  up on my computer, and cast it via wifi to my Sangean  WF-T1Di DAB/FM tuner which has wifi in my stereo room system

I don't believe you do - I used to do it with my old TV that was pretty old and had no apps -

The chromecast does all the connecting - all you need is a good wifi connection to stream from PC to TV.

I have my TV connected to my Amp though.

Not sure about streaming to a stand alone Tuner.

You may need the Chromecast AUDIO to do that one.

If you had Spotify app already on your TV (Samsung has it) then you can just sign in with that with no need for anything else.

Yes a few months ago my Spotify Free on my Win 10 pro desktop computer had a cast button down in the lower right corner, but that now has disappeared.

Stop being a tight arse and pay for music if you want to stream.

You just don't get it, I don't want to listen to compressed streamed music, it's just for sampling purpose to find 70'80'90' Rock, Jazz, Blues, and Classical stuff that I've never heard, then if I like the sample cuts, I'll use  https://dr.loudness-war.info/ and pay for the first uncompressed issue CD or vinyl thanks.

I'll let you and your mates listen to the compressed streamed later re-issue/re-master/louder versions and pay for it.

What don't I get George.   You want Spotify for free.

You tight arse bugger - pay for it or stop moaning.  I can give you one of my family spots for $15 per month 🤔xD

I only listen to Spotify in the car, where it's really good.  I also don't mind paying for it so the artists get some $$.

Otherwise I will listen to any of my 6500 odd vinyl albums which is growing and growing as there is too much great music and not enough time to listen to it all:classic_biggrin:

All my mates listen to uncompressed vinyl, not pos cd's.   I have even brought Alan back to the darkside - u know Alan if your memory is failing you 😉

Like I said,  "a few months ago my Spotify Free on my Win 10 pro desktop computer had a cast button down in the lower right corner, but that now has disappeared."

Does anyone know why? Maybe it happened when it updated to the latest version??

What if you use Spotify web player on Chrome browser and then cast from Chrome browser to your Chromecast Audio?

Can you give that a crack.

Not using the Spotify Windows app, but instead the Chrome web browser.

YES!!! Yes!!!!  Thanks very much, that was all to easy, I didn't know Google Chrome had a Spotify player app for desktops.

Now I can sample music that I haven't heard and buy the best used non compressed cd release of it on https://dr.loudness-war.info/

Thanks again.
