His remix of Aqualung should be the benchmark on how to do a remix. Nothing dramatic enough that it clashes with your audio memory of the original, but instead subtle flourishes that not only make sense but truly enhance the overall listening experience. All IMO, but I find this mix quite compelling indeed.

And I still don't know how he managed to get rid of all that hiss without draining the treble like the previous corporate remix did.
