I've been away from the site for several days and noticed that a couple of folks were wondering where I was, so I want to take a quick minute, while I have one, to explain my recent absence here. Back on March 3rd, my wife, my soulmate, and my best friend for 38 years now, was diagnosed with cancer. She has a sarcoma on her leg, behind her right knee. It was misdiagnosed as a Baker's Cyst back in September, so we've been treating it as an inconvenience since then, only becoming concerned when it started growing, causing her pain and discomfort. We went back to the doctor in late February where they immediately ordered an MRI which diagnosed the sarcoma, as well as a suspicious spot on her lung. She was immediately assigned to an Oncologist who, based on the MRI, ordered a PET scan. That is where they found another suspicious spot on her heart. She was admitted into the hospital last Friday 3/14 and has been there ever since, undergoing multiple tests. Her Oncologist was supposed to have a consultation with us on 3/19, which she postponed in favor of yet another PET scan and even more tests. All we can do right now is wait for her final determination on what the course of action will be, but I feel frustrated, helpless, and frankly, very scared right now. This last week has been a blur, trying to balance work during the day, staying with her at the hospital after work until late, coming home, taking care of the pets, updating family and friends, then trying to eat a late dinner and catch some sleep, and then, starting things all over again the next day. I have a brief respite today and tomorrow, but I suspect that she still will be in the hospital on Monday, so I need to try to set up a course of action for the next work week so that I don't end up running myself into the ground. The last thing that she or I need right now is for me to make myself sick. I am going to try to stop back in here to spin some music later as I really need it right now, and I do miss being here. In the meantime, for those of you here who pray, her name is Lyn, and we would both appreciate your prayers very much. Thank you. I was away from the forum with a busy weekend, so I am just seeing your message now Andrew. I am so sorry to hear the news about Lyn. Hopefully, her medical team can help her and she can make a full recovery. Thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Edited Monday at 11:29 PM by JorgeGVB 4
