I've worn mine more than any other headphones I've ever owned. Do they compare with SQ of my other "serious" headphones? No, but it reminded me of the old photographer chestnut, "what's the best camera? The one you have with you." I carry mine just about everywhere. Even when travelling overseas, I take my noise cancelling ones for the plane or hotel room, but my airpods for out and about as they fit in the change pocket of my jeans which usually has no other use for me.

I love that these have a mode that allows outside noise in, I hate the feeling of isolation when out walking or riding.

Yes my wife has lost hers before but I never have. From memory we used the find my phone app to get us close to my wifes, and then were able to find pretty easily.

a bit like my Apple TV as being the "best source" because I use it everyday, user experience is excellent, it always works, is easy for everyone to use and the quality is more than adequate.

My only real gripe with the original AirPods was that they were thin sounding. I’m hopeful that for one they have improved their drivers and secondly that the seal in the ear will boost them up a bit.

Well finally, actually new AirPods from Apple, oh well very happy with the Sennheiser Momentum True wireless, especially sound wise. Plus the aesthetics of the Sennheiser are more pleasing to the eye than the white tampons now shorter hanging from each ear?

You welcome, been a fan of Apple for a long time, but really over it with how they market things now. When Steve Jobs was at the helm, each new announcement/release was worth paying attention as it set up the rest of the industry to follow Apple as the leader in technology. Now the release are just plain vanilla, the Sennheisers are similar spec and will no doubt be sound superior to Apple AirPods pro. So no the comment wasn’t pointless, members need to know that AirPods are not that magical ?

I find a big round disk hanging way out of the ear much more stupid looking. I'd prefer a choice of colour but may well get the new ones and gift my originals to someone else.

Great, yet another Apple thread turning to Schiit.

@blybo if your happy enough with the originals, you’ll love the Pro’s, they are pretty good for what they are, I had a demo at the Apple store, compared them to the new Beats equivalent, didn’t like those, and bought a pair of the pros. . I use them with the Latin eq setting and so far so good.

Have you tried transparency mode? This would be my main use.

Works pretty well, but of course it depends on how loud you listen to music. Noise canceling is decent also, active and passive. But overall, it’s good to see the Apple headphones are finally heading in the right direction.

Basically if you put them on my head and didnt tell me what they were, I’d be happy enough and surprised once I found out. Not the best of course, but getting there, but for the size of them, remarkable.

And they look a hell of a lot better the the originals.

I use my AirPods daily purely for their convenience - will order the AirPod Pro on my return home from overseas based on my experience with the original AirPods (whose battery is now slowly dying.......).

They definitely have that fuller sound that the original ones lacked.

But like I said, if anyone was happy enough with the originals, these will be worth the upgrade.

Still looking forward to my Nura Loops though.

They look like a good upgrade. I freaking love my AirPods and also use them pretty much every day. Happily, I use them for podcasts and almost never music so the better sound is pretty irrelevant to me. If i was going to spend those sorts of dollars on ANCs for travelling, I’d probably go something like the Sony over ears for a bit less. So, they seem great but I also feel pretty good that when I have to replace my current ones, I’ll still be pretty happy with the base model. :)

Hey, @Sime. Curious, just in terms of logistics/hygiene. How did they handle the demo at the apple store?

Also, are the tips standard size? Like, could you replace them with comply tips or similar? Thanks

They were using alcohol wipes and also had stocks of spares I think.

As for the tips, they are a proprietary design how they lock on so other types won’t fit.

I had a listen to the beats yesterday, they were demonstrating them along side the pro’s and I hated them immensely. Way too much bass and they had the same sound signature that the Sony 1000’s have that I hate.

Which Beats model didn’t you like (compared to Apple Airpods Pro)?

These?
