Volunteer Kazz Posted September 5, 2022 Volunteer Posted September 5, 2022 Have been reading this in a few places, looks like no replacement for the 8015, and Dirac Live (paid upgrade) for the 50s and above. I do think their model numbering is backwards though. It will of course be interesting to see Aus pricing. 2022-2023 Marantz Cinema Series Stereo 70s......Replaces NR1200.....Expected Q4 2023 Cinema 70s....Replaces NR1711.....Expected Q4 2022 Cinema 60......Replaces SR5015.....Expected Q4 2022 Cinema 50......Replaces SR6015.....Expected Q4 2022 Cinema 40......Replaces SR7015.....Expected Q3 2023 AV 10 + AMP 10 are the New Flagship Seperates.....Expected Q3 2023 Further additions and updates..........Expected 2024 -“S” denotes the slimline -“Stereo”, “Cinema”, “AV”, and “AMP” are the new naming conventions -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dates for when to expect new information -Official Press Release 9/26/2022 -Marantz @ CEDIA 9/29 - 10/1 -First Reviews 10/1 -Luxury & Lifestyle press release October -Listening experience with Luxury Press 10/5 -Product drop email 10/30 -Cinema Listening Event 11/5 -Email for Product Drop 11/30 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Things that you may notice at first glance -New Target Markets and Marketing Strategies -New design step-up by price point, but all materials are premium -HDAM SA-2 -Marantz logo on the Power Transformer -New Premium Remote -New HD GUI is now called “Marantz Teal” -Keeping the Porthole -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- New Features -CINEMA Series includes these plus many more new improvements and technology • CINEMA 40 and above are made in Shirakawa • Up to 4 independent subwoofer outputs (Cinema 50 and above have 4 indendent Sub outputs, the others have two) • Up to 7 native 8K inputs • Dual subwoofer modes for better blending with main channels (cinema 50 and above) • Preamp mode shuts off internal amps (all models) • Dirac Live permits the most advanced room correction suite on the market (Cinema 50 and above) • Across the board improvements in audio performance (all models) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- New and Improved AVR Experience • 8K, Dynamic HDR content through AVR to 8K TVs – Improved – No. Of 8K/60 inputs increases, depends by model • 4K HDR, Dolby Vision content through AVR to 4K TVs and projectors. • Latency free gaming experience with the latest gaming consoles with higher frame rate, variable refresh rate and auto low latency mode • Dolby Atmos, DTS:X objected based 3D sound formats up to 15.4 channel speaker configurations such as 9.4.6 Dolby Atmos/DTS:X pro layout (AV10 only) • Enjoy most powerful, room-filling LFE performance up to 4 subwoofer connections – New • Enjoy IMAX theater experience at home with IMAX Enhanced content • Thanks to Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization and DTS Virtual:X technologies, enjoy 3D audio experience only from floor level speakers as small as 2.1 setup • Enthusiasts, music lovers can enjoy Auro 3D content as well as Auro-Matic up-mixing up to 13.1 channel (7.4.6) out of box. • Take advantage of built-in Audyssey room calibration and EQ technology to optimize room acoustics out of box, customize further via the Audyssey MultEQ editor app. • More advanced users can take full advantage of “Dirac Live” upgradability for more professional and remote calibration through PC or smart devices – New AV10, C30,40,50 • Connect more powerful external amplifiers for all channel or your desired channels with least interference from internal amplification thanks to PreAmplifier mode or Pre-out only option for each speaker channel – New • Enjoy single HDMI connection from AVR to the TV for TV Audio. Grant Slack Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 Pricing seems to be about 25% up on prior models. Only one AVP, the premium model. Looks like the 77xx AVPs are gone. cheers Grant 1
Grant Slack Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 The inclusion of Audy with a Dirac upgrade option seems to be ‘best of both worlds’ for buyers… 1

Mr_Gadget Posted September 6, 2022 Posted September 6, 2022 Quite happy with my 7704 so won't be in a hurry to change anyway unless it breaks.
Wilco Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 sigh...I still have my SR9600 in the shed...still works too...sometimes I just wonder, why bother ey?
MangledLeg Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 Will be interesting to see how these fare - my Yamaha RX-A2020 has died and I’m borrowing an old AVR while waiting for the current tech to settle. Looking for 4k120 with all the HDMI 2.1 features to allow for current gen consoles as I prefer to get my AVRs to last 8-10 years.
Kdjjdk Will Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 they should have made the port hole smaller , so its even harder to read whats going on from ur chair 3
Mr_Gadget Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 I think you missed the spec detail regarding 3d holographic porthole HUD that comes out of the remote control.

I just use my ipad camera now, when I can't read the display.
MangledLeg Posted September 27, 2022 Posted September 27, 2022 Any word on local pricing? The Cinema 50 looks like a good fit but it’s probably priced out of my budget. Considering a Cinema 60 then add a second hand power amp for my VAF DC-X. Looking to go 5.1.2

cwt Posted October 15, 2022 Posted October 15, 2022 Not the 1st time some price increases have come through before release . The terrible effect of inflation has hit everything .. I wonder how Sound united will integrate with the new boss ; Masimo
dlaloum Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 Something to keep in mind - SU have promised Dirac Live by March... But DLBC (sub integration) only in 2024 Work on Dirac Spatial Room Correction has been confirmed but no date provided - so given DLBC is 2024, SRC would be later than that... probably with the next generation. And although these look nice (as do the Denon's) - Dirac Live vs Audyssey XT32 is a pretty close match ... although most people are saying Dirac has the edge... but given the additional $$$ needed for Dirac, I doubt most people will go there. DLBC brings something more to the table, but only if you are runnin multiple subs... and Dirac Live with DLBC Multisub adds up to US$800 - so no big deal on the flagship model, but buyers further down the range will need to think carefully, as it raises the cost of the AVR up a full category more or less. SRC will be a game changer when it comes out - but which AVR's will support it is unknown (and no pricing has even been hinted at ) .
betty boop Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 some avs posted material apparently from an eu dealer briefing, top photo is av10 and amp 10 on show... some indication of timing, how sophisticated the 4 sub setup and use is with dual to quad zones. dsp power dirac support both costs and time lines 3
