Zalman Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 (edited) Further Information: This setup is for those who remember and enjoyed the late 70's early 80's sound. If you are at all interested I think an audition will convince you. The Turntable is functioning perfectly, it is semi auto ie. tonearm returns to base stops spinning at end of record. The perspex cover is in very good condition light scratching only otherwise cosmetically excellent. The Amp has an inbuilt MM only Phono which to my ears does a great job. I have cleaned all the pots and contacts: no funny noises. The speakers are 90db sensitivity with 8 inch woofers and 2.6 inch tweeters. They do a great job of producing a nicely detailed Phat 70/80 sound without looking flash. Cosmetically they need new cloths if you are at all AR, otherwise rock solid. New cloth in grey on order and will be included. Comes with barely run in AT3600L, cheapskate I know but actually sounds pretty good. I have tried this unit with the Nagaoka MP110 and my Goldring 2300. The Nag is noticeably better, the 2300 astonishing ( Its 1980 and you are at the venue). The table amp, preamp and speakers respond well to decent gear. The entertainment unit has a decent cabinet, 2 detached speakers, a well regarded tuner that has seen little or no use, a tape deck that works ok; new belt and capstan set included. All original user documents are provided including wiring diagrams for the amp and tuner. Some tapes of the era also-no guarantee of tape quality. SA 5500 11 Stereo Amp TX 5500 11 Tuner CT f4040 Cassette deck Pl 155A Turntable with original headshell CS 300A Speakers All user directions Matching Cabinet in 70's metal grey I would prefer pickup with audition in Bendigo but might consider delivery over a reasonable distance for basically fuel cost. As usual payment will be made to SNA on completion. Edited September 28, 2022 by Zalman Missed info price change 3 1
Wil Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Just for your information, this system was known as the Aavante 1. Cassette deck was an option and was optioned with any model deck from the Pioneer range. My father had this very system, which I have just sold as well. Great gear for their time and great value, even now.
