Further Information

An extremely rare pair of Goldmund Metis powered speakers.    They are hand made in Switzerland, like all other Goldmund gear…..and as you probably know Goldmund is top-shelf kit.

I purchased these 2nd hand about 18 months back and have enjoyed them immensely, but they really are overkill for a bedroom system!

Info on these is hard to come by, but there is a fair amount of info on the ‘Metis Mk2’, which is a little more sophisticated, in that the Mk2 is wireless and has a built-in DAC.       So far as I can ascertain the original Metis I am selling are as follows:

Each unit has a 5” mid and smaller (1.5”?) tweeter.  Frequency response around 60 to 25,00 Hz +- 3db.

Each speaker has TWO built-in Goldmund (Telos) A/B amps. I believe 150w EACH for the tweeter AND mid-range.

Heavy as hell – weigh about 15 kgs each!

Single RCA input, and a standard power input.

        Immaculate Swiss-built finish

In use they really are fantastic.   Spectacularly vibrant and sparkling treble and mid…really fabulous.     Bass is a little shy, as you’d expect from a bookshelf type speaker.

I teamed them up with a Chord Hugo2 acting as DAC and Pre-amp, and that was a spectacular combo.

I can't find an original RRP for this speaker, but for comparison purposes, the Metis Mk2 (similar speaker / amp config) was reviewed a few years back by Stereonet, and THEY had an RRP of UKP 18,000!!!    Of course this model IS different, but a steal at my asking price, given you get 4x built-in Telos amps to boot!

I have the original boxes, so shipping at cost can be arranged.   Pickup NSW Central Coast, OR I can arrange pickup @ Neutral Bay.

Oh…..and if teamed with a decent Subwoofer (or pair) this pair of Metis would combine to provide world-class, full range response.   If this interests you, PM me, as I have some very suitable subs as well.
