RAF13 Posted November 24, 2022 Posted November 24, 2022 Further Information: This is a rare opportunity and a bargain for someone looking for some truly great speakers. Unfortunately, I will regret letting these go if sold, but I need to raise some cash and this is one way of doing it. These were the ‘TOP OF THE LINE’ models from Miller and Kreisel. Their absolute best, they sound amazing and very rarely come up for sale. These speakers were Miller and Kreisel’s Reference Speakers and to say they are rare; I would probably put them in the ‘rocking horse’ category. I have also owned a full Miller & Kreisel S-150 system, including (7x) S-150 speakers and in my opinion the Miller & Kreisel S-5000THX ULTRA Reference System is just on another level. They even sound pretty good for music in a 2.1 system. The differences between the S-5000's and the S-150's are: 1. The S-5000's play louder 2. The S-5000's have a bigger sound stage 3. The S-5000's have a more neutral sound 4. The S-5000's are more dynamic They both have that sweet accurate sound. The S-150's made them more money and were much cheaper to produce, so they eventually dropped the S-5000's. I think the S-5000's are one of the best cinema speakers I have ever owned. For EOI:- · (3x) Miller & Kreisel S-5000THX Left/Centre/Right for Front Satellite Speakers. For those interested I also have available:- · Another (3x) Miller & Kreisel S-5000 THX Left/Centre/Right for Front Satellite Speakers (I was doubling them up, running two speakers for each for LCR channel) · (1x) Miller & Kreisel MX-5000THX Powered Subwoofer · (2x) Miller & Kreisel SS-500THX Surround Speakers · (2x) Miller & Kreisel SS-150 THX Surround Speakers · (2x) Miller & Kreisel ST-1 Tilting Speaker Stands The speakers are pre-owned and in good used condition. I would prefer to sell these speakers as a package, in a 5.1 or 7.1 system. Although, if I get solid offers for individual speakers, I will consider options. They are the original ‘Made in the USA’ speakers, not the Chinese manufactured versions you get these days, and will not disappoint. These are very rare and very hard to find in Australia and I had to import them from the USA. Miller & Kreisel Sound has a habit of being there at the very start of things. The company's timeline stretches all the way back to 1973, when Steely Dan's Walter Becker wandered into Mr. Kreisel's shop and asked him to design a subwoofer and monitoring system for his Pretzel Logic mixing sessions. The rest, as they say, is sub-history. OK, you probably already knew that M&K is synonymous with badass subwoofers, so here's another cool bit of trivia. In 1976, long before the words "home" and "theatre" were ever used together in a sentence, M&K introduced their first subwoofer/satellite system. Their pioneering spirit in the pro-sound world is legendary; so, naturally, Dolby Labs depended on an M&K MX-5000 system during their developmental work on Dolby Digital in the early '90s. Today M&K Sound loudspeakers have been chosen for the development and demonstration of the ground-breaking Dolby Digital cinema and home surround format, for the first public demonstration of the high-resolution Blu-ray disc format, for sound production on Star Wars Episodes I-III and countless other award-winning music, film and TV productions. A Who’s Who of the professional audio world – film, music, mastering and broadcast studios – continue to entrust their livelihood to M&K Sound reference monitors and powered subwoofers. If there is one speaker that most AV enthusiasts would recognize straight away, it's the M&K S-150. The original appeared around 15 years ago and was an instant hit with the professional and consumer markets.
