Dilettanteque Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 Emerson String Quartet & Mstislav Rostropovich - Schubert: Late String Quartets and Quintet 3
att23 Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 Coming back to another Steven Isserlis album that I like a lot, with cello concertos from Haydn and CPE Bach, and some extra arias from Mozart and Boccherini. 2
att23 Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 Easy listening music (within the classical music genre). 2
Steffen Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 The Mendelssohn piano trios are great. Not sure I would call them easy listening, that sounds like a derogatory term. They're fully-fledged chamber music, just not inaccessible like some modern music. I also love Julia Fischer, I reckon she's one of best violinists of our time. And she plays the piano just as well. 1
att23 Posted March 21, 2020 Posted March 21, 2020 This one has grown on me. Works by Czech composer Martinu, with very nice viola playing by Maxim Rysanov. 1
mrbuzzardstubble Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Tessa Lark - Fantasy. Works by Telemann, Schubert, Kriesler and Ravel. 1

att23 Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 Part of the Ansermet Russian Music box set, disc 31. Prokofiev - Symphony no.1 in D major, op.25 “Classical” and Symphony no.5 in B flat major, op.100. Played by L’Orchestre de la Suisse Romande Recorded in 1961, in the Victoria Hall, Geneva, Switzerland. Nowadays I find that I am enjoying lesser SQ recordings in basic hifi gear and less than ideal setup. More into the music than the gear. Maybe I should not be associated with this audiophile site. 2
Dilettanteque Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 Andrew Manze, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra - Williams: The Lark Ascending et al Beautiful new recording - Manze always seems to deliver an engaging performance on disc! 2
