Ok, I’m happy to report that Regula Mühlemann did a terrific job on this album. She comes very close to my long-standing reference recording of Exsultate Jubilate, K.165, with Barbara Bonney from 1990:

It’s very hard to compete against a youthful Barbara Bonney. However, I have to say – sorry, Sony boffins – Teldec made a better sounding recording.

Video of Dom Smith's Farewell Concert in 1989 at QPAC.  A wonderful tribute to one of Australia's great singers.

Bach, the gift that (sometimes) keeps giving. I find that annoying because some Bach (most of his vocal settings) is hard for me to listen to. But then there is this, which puts him on a very high pedestal:
