Steffen Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 One interesting feature of this recording is the first piece, Notturno for 4 Orchestras, K. 286. You hear four small chamber orchestras playing, that are situated at increasing distance from the listener, and echoing each other. I don’t have the booklet handy at the moment (it’s in storage somewhere), so I don’t recall whether this was done using actual distance or simulated at the mixing board. Either way, the effect is convincing, and it’s a good test of the soundstage depth of the playback system. 1
