I used to have this LP, wonderful sound and performances. I did keep a nice rip though 🙂

I agree this is a great album.  I dont have a physical copy (streamed it via Qobus) but think I need to find one.

I figured Oratorio on a Sunday night was appropriate and McKellar is one of my favourite tenors for Handel arias 🙂

Is that bloke on woodwind the same one who ran Musical Fidelity? If so he’s responsible for a few links in my musical chains, but none of his woodwind noises have gone down them.

@Steff no just the Bach plus 15 others - all classical. Walcha is the master.

This disc sounds very good, Never tire of Bach's organ music and always sounds fresh with a different interpretation.

I'm listening to the English language version of this satire: "In Praise of Folly" - the actors are so much more astute at giving voice to Erasmus' humour than their counterparts of the French version, I found.

I recently heard a couple of interviews with William Barton on ABC Classic, including his recollections of his collaboration with the late Peter Sculthorpe and the QSO on this album, Songs of Sea and Sky. In particular, Earth Cry. It should have national iconic status, if it doesn't already.
