Got to catch up with Matt at his place today, always good to do.

His speakers are more imposing in size and finish in person :)

Sound, they let all the details through so i was hearing more than I usually do, well presented and the bass was there and well balanced for my ears :thumb:

Thanks for having me over, Matt.

A pleasure to have you here Ian. Got to play the system louder than I usually do and what do you know, CD beats streaming at higher levels. I think its fair to call my normal levels extreme low listening levels though.

Yes, extreme is not an understatement.

The full rangers help there for your low level listening.

My system now sounds like It's missing detail after listening to yours 🤣

Still..... It's very transparent and natural sounding. Not artificial in any way  ;)

I have just read all 10 pages of posts

And I agree a beautiful build and something to be proud of

Been a fan of full range speakers for 40 years or so and built many single driver speakers in the past ( hence my forum name )

All have been amazing from Lowther and Audio Nirvana, Fostex and others

Not sure if I have another build in me ? as this project has peeked my interest again

No….. I can’t physically move them. It took three of us a few hours to get them from the van and up the stairs into my home. My sound system lives upstairs…..

When we move I think I’ll need to hire piano movers.

My tip for this issue is

Permanently place furniture moving sliders on all corners and the speakers will glide as you push

That is what is under my DIY Klipsch speakers now

I have used them on many previous large format speakers as well as fitted wheels at the rear of the cabinet that only contact the floor when the speakers are tilted

I can slide them around though in any way lifting to put whites vibration pads in place won’t be happening. Either way I’m satisfied with the sound so no need to change anything ;)

Good to see you again

Pretty sure you came to my home around 2015 from memory to have some home roasted coffee and listen to some music on the Klipsch La Scala

Do you still have that Peugeot key ring ?

Yes that's correct

Still have that key-ring somewhere, but no Pugs now, white wagon got totaled and the next blue one was a lemon, gearbox died. The Pugs were too high maintenance for me, so have the little Mirage, It's near zero maintenance :)

Home roasted coffee does sound very interesting..... I remain curious about Cornwall and La Scala speakers. I'd love to hear one of these days. I very nearly went a different route rather than these big speakers..... Klipsch Cornwall were my initial thought..... Was tempted by Mike Lenehans latest speakers though they just weren't ready yet at the time. Truthfully given how much more gain I have than necessary with my equipment the latest Lenehan speakers may have been a better choice though it's too late now of course. The funding set aside for the speakers was a one time thing and I'll never get another pair.  :)

On Klipsch, I just finished this build (bass bins only, Belle). Bill Woods conical horn on top. The Belle is a touch larger than the La Scala, though with similar design and output.

As you live in Brisbane and if time allows I'm sure we can arrange something

I will roast some special single origin coffee beans  just for the occasion

I’ll need to figure out how to go about it. Weekends are near impossible due to family obligations though if you’re free during any weekday perhaps I could arrange a day of work?

You are in luck because -
I work nights so mostly free during the day - unless I am visiting clients from time to time

Well I was lucky enough to hear the DFH10 Headwreckers in Lii Songs sound treated room recently. It was a really special experience when they were connected to the little Decware power amp they had on hand. I’ve never heard anything like it. I must say that the fit and finish of their current speaker cabinets is now world class. Nothing like their early cabinets.

Coincidentally with the music off and just talking voices sounded better than I’ve heard also. I’m now a big fan of room treatment ;)

Crikey Mikey, all very fancy, those speaker wings are rather interesting too.

Well, had some really very large gains using a MiniDSP DDRC-22D with Dirac Live. Presently I just have it EQ'ing from 30Hz to 300Hz which brings a wonderful solidity to things and really warms the sound up without losing the lovely open sound stage my system has. If I apply 30Hz to 16k that works well for TV, and some though not most music.

Reduced the EQ from 30-180Hz. More natural sound sound this. 🙂

Weirdly I’ve had notable gains going to linear power spills around out current rental property. Probably only noticeable as all wall sockets are on the same circuit. I look forward to getting the new home built with a dedicated audio circuit, Thor DRM95/30 and separate grounding post.

This is a great thread. I just received the Lii Song Liionidas open baffles with the P10. Just a week in with about 30-40 hours on them. Really enjoying what i'm hearing so far.

How long does it take for the P10 to run in?

I've moved the sub back next to the TV and it's dialed in nicely.

I'm going to wait about 6 months or so before i make a decision to either bi-amp them and bypass the internal crossover, or upgrade the crossover parts.

From memory all done by 120 hours or so though it was a long time ago so a bit hazy. The Platinums start off pretty good compared to other Lii’s but definitely do improve over time.

The W15’s certainly like some power. Back when I ran OB’s I bi-amped using a Crown XLS1502 for bass

That's what i'm thinking of doing. What frequency would you cross the W15 in? I would like some more mid-bass.

I'm currently running a Gryphon Diablo.
