Mr_Gimlet Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 Hi all, as part of a spring clean I am moving stuff around, cleaning and refreshing. I've picked up loads of bits and pieces from the Classifieds so thank you to everyone moving stuff on. I've got some XLR cables - one shortish one for my subwoofer, and a pair of longer ones to reach my headphone amp. They are all the same brand, JIB (see photo). But I can't remember where I got them and don't know where they sit on the quality scale - I'm not sure whether they are worth upgrading. They seem quite well made but a google search only throws up BoaAcoustics which are $$$$ and I am sure I wouldn't have paid that. Anyway, anyone heard of these cable and maybe a guess as to their rough price?
Quark Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 JIB were a relatively affordable brand of quality cables sold by Custom HT. I paid $181 for 2 x 3m and 2 x 2m XLR cables in 2011. I've still got the 3m cables and they're working fine. The 2m cables were sold with some valve gear years ago.
075Congo Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 JIB is a German company based in Berlin which seems to specialise in a vast array of audio and video cables. Quite high end the article compared them to Chord and Audioquest so be worth giving them a spit/polish.

I have a 15m pair and a 2m single.
