Hey Guys,

I am new to the forum and have just pieced together a stereo setup that I am yet to take delivery of as I am waiting on some stuff to come into stock.

The system so far consists of the following:

Source: Bluesound Node N130

Amp: Nad C298

Speakers: Bowers 702 Signature

Speaker Cable: Wireworld Solstice 8 3m (Banana)

RCA: Wireworld Luna 8 1m

Just looking to get peoples thoughts on upgrading the power cables for mainly the Nad C298 and possibly the Node but I don't want to spend much on them.

I was wondering if it is worth buying something like the Isotek EVO3 Initium which are around $130 or just wasting money as they aren't shielded.

Around $200 per cable is as much as I would want to spend if it is worth it at all to get something over the stock cables.

Thanks

I would be inclined to save your money and devote it to other parts of your system. Investing in a CAIG Contact cleaner is low cost and regular cleaning of all contacts (including power plug contacts) is a great habit to get into. Sounds like a great system particularly the Wireworld cabling...excellent reputation.

Cheers

Hey 075Congo,

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah I wasn't overly concerned with upgrading the power cables that is why I didn't want to spend a huge amount of money on them. I was just looking to get something a bit better than stock with breaking the bank but will probably just save the money and put it towards something else like you have suggested.

Thanks. I am hoping it sounds decent as I actually haven't heard the 702 Signatures as nowhere had them to demo when I decided to look at these speakers as they are last stock, so had to go off what the 702 S2 and newer S3 version sounded like as a reference point.

So hopefully they sound alright but for the price I paid for them I can't complain.

That was one of the reason's I decided to go with these Wireworld cables as they have a very good reputation and secondly was the price as where I got my Solstice 8 3m cables from was half the price everywhere else is selling it for.

Yes the technology built into the Wireworld cabling and their build quality is first class. Be interesting how you react when you get it set up in your listening area. Let us all know........exciting times ahead.

Hopefully they can get the remaining items which are the Node and the speaker cable in soon as the rest is already waiting in store.

If it does come in soon then hopefully I will be able to get it all setup my next break (FIFO worker) which will be the start of next month.

Yeah not being able to audition them was a bit of a gamble to still go ahead and buy them but I am making the massive assumption that they sound similar to the 702 S3 which sounded great to me but will be paying half the price of them!

So when I finally get a chance to listen to them for the first time in my place I hopefully won't be disappointed!
