Waterpistol Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 (edited) Further Information: *PRICE DROP* PMC doesn’t really need any introduction, the smallest of the range but definitely not small in sound, detail and super fast..!! Both crossovers have been upgraded with Mundorf evo aluminium replacing the main cap value and bypassed with Mundorf supreme classic S/G/O, 0.01uf on the tweeter and 0.1uf on the woofer circuit. There is also a stock 12uf electrolytic cap on the crossover, due to odd value I have bypassed those with Mundorf supreme evo 0.1uf. Both drivers rewired, woofer has 1 x 18awg Deuland tinned copper in cotton and oil and 1 x 20ga 5n pure silver (drawn in Australia) in Teflon, the tweeter has 1 x silver (hot) and 1 x Deuland on the return. A significant and noticeable improvement over stock, they really opened up at both ends, LF is deep and articulated HF is super smooth and silky yet retains all detail and is just way nicer to listen to. Paired exceptionally well with Naim, likely due to higher DC drive. Currently being driven by Valve gear, 10wpc (triode) bass extension is more than enough (in my room) so don’t let the 86.5db sensitivity lure you into thinking you need big power to make them sing, but note they are suited to a smaller room (my room is 3.5 x 5.0 with 3.8m ceiling height) I can demo for next 10days, I have sold my current amplifier however it’s not being shipped yet so able to show just how nice and surprising these speakers are. The main reason for selling is I have an opportunity to build a system that has been in the planning for a long time. PLEASE NOTE: one speaker has unfortunately decided it preferred being on the floor rather than on the stand..! There is a very small indentation on the top rear corner where it contacted the skirting board, the veneer is 3mm thick and the damage is only superficial. There was more damage to the skirt than the speaker..!! I will offer the speakers as is (price reflects damage). there is absolutely no affect to SQ, the drop was from a SS-5 stand onto carpet. The speaker cables and some power cables took most of the impact, the only point of contact was the top rear left corner, no damage is visible from the front of the speaker. The rear mirror finished panel is as new and was not damaged.. Photos can be provided upon request. Open to reasonable offers, and open to the possibility of trade/s also. Purchased locally from Australian distributor, Class A Audio, all documentation is available including manuals, warranty card, original invoice but I don’t have the box so at this stage a local pickup or delivery to Melbourne by myself for free.
