Phil sydney Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 Hey all Could anyone tell us a replacement for this transistor in the picture? It's for a on /off LCD display of a cd player.. Cheers
Monkeyboi Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 (edited) Looks a lot like a 2SC1951A Datasheet is here. Type Designator: 2SC1951 Material of Transistor: Si Polarity: NPN Maximum Collector Power Dissipation (Pc): 0.75 W Maximum Collector-Base Voltage |Vcb|: 120 V Maximum Collector-Emitter Voltage |Vce|: 120 V Maximum Emitter-Base Voltage |Veb|: 5 V Maximum Collector Current |Ic max|: 0.1 A Max. Operating Junction Temperature (Tj): 120 °C Transition Frequency (ft): 70 MHz Collector Capacitance (Cc): 2.8 pF Forward Current Transfer Ratio (hFE), MIN: 50 Noise Figure, dB: - Package: TO92 In the situation it is used for (LCD board) any Si NPN transistor with similar specs as listed above will most likely work just fine. These are listed as equivalents if that helps - BSS38, 2SC2240, 2SC2459, 2SC3245(A), 2N5058, KT604AM If you tell us what bit of gear it's out of (Make and Model) then the list of substitutes might widen. Awesome thanks a lot for the input...it's for a display board ofa Kenwood cd player L1000D .. What do you think? 1
Phil sydney Posted February 18, 2023 Author Posted February 18, 2023 Actually when I read the service manual it says it's a IC semiconductor..below is the data sheet of the Mitsubishi transistor part... 1
Monkeyboi Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 Apologies, my bad. I didn't take notice of the bottom of your first pic which says "IC-2". Doh! It's available from Wagner in Sydney. the Ic you're looking for $4.45 before GST. The version you want is the TO-92L but any of the other package variants will probably be okay as long as you are prepared to solder some wires to bodge it according to the datasheet. 1

Hey all good..I was actually a bit lost..I thought it was a transistor at first sight too Much appreciate all the help 1
