nagamas Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 (edited) Further Information: These would probably be the cheapest Italian crafted horn speakers you can buy. Reasonably high sensitivity means you can also partner these with tube amplification, if that is what you prefer, otherwise will work with many types of amplifiers. If you are in the market for a new pair of monitors like PMC or Sonus Faber, or even floorstanders, then you should listen to these before deciding. Benefits of Horn Drivers The main advantage of horn speakers is they are more efficient; they can typically produce approximately 3 times (10 dB) more sound power than a cone speaker from a given amplifier output. As per photo, the speakers are driven extremely well by a Tektron integrated amp with a pair of 300B tubes (7W per channel). Another advantage of horn speakers is their directionality. Instead of dispersing sound all over the room, the sound can be aimed directly at the listener. With well designed horn drivers, the listener can hear the subtle nuances of music more clearly, resulting in a more detailed and natural presentation. denimhunter Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 Are these field coil drivers? What power supply do they come with? 1
nagamas Posted March 8, 2023 Author Posted March 8, 2023 My bad. Normal horn drivers but I believe they are manufactured in house. 1
