Fair enough too at about half the asking price. I have only really used it in NOS mode with a Soundaware D300REF network streamer + Afterdark Trifecta Emperor Double Crown OCXO Word Clock. Streamer and Word Clock is not included in this sale (the value of each is more than that of the DAC) I have all the original packaging which is excellent so I've no issue posting this. holytiger Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 wow.. d1000 is an extremely good dac but is audio gd that much of a better dac?! what sort of improvements does audiogd offer? 1
MattyW Posted April 17, 2023 Author Posted April 17, 2023 The most noticeable difference for me is a lot from within quality similar to a good tube component, also improved PRaT.
MattyW Posted April 21, 2023 Author Posted April 21, 2023 Price drop. If it doesn't sell for $2500, I guess it never will. 1
DacMan101 Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 WOW I'm amazed this is still available. I mean it's currently around $5200 RRP I haven't heard one yet, I hear that it's a really great DAC. If I had the cash I'd buy it

MattyW Posted April 21, 2023 Author Posted April 21, 2023 I don't quite get it myself..... I mean I'd pay $4500 for one new as I think thats where performance sits. $5200 though..... Would rather spring the extra amount for the AudioGD R7HE Mk2 I'm now running. It's only $1k more. I don't really know whats going on though. I thought $3k was a outright steal but it seems that nothing is really selling right now unless people are practically giving it away. Cost of living crisis I guess. 1

Yeah, we need layby/afterpay now lol I find myself spending a lot less (with all the mortgage rate increases) on hifi than I did 6 months ago.

Daresay once we've found the place we're going to knock down I'll go through the same thing borrowing to rebuild, then can sell our current home to pay off that debt. I discovered cheaper than selling our home and renting though. 1
Fallavivo Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 yes, it will be mine. PM will be sent to you. 1
