Unfortunately a regretful sale, but I am looking at selling my Primaluna Evo 400 preamplifier, with a black front plate.

Comes with original box including accessories such as remote, power cable and fuses (I have not needed to change any at all).

Has been used approximately 1-2 hour per day since ownership in May 2022. Smoke free household, and to my knowledge, no kids have gotten their hands close to the preamp or the tubes ;)

Please note that the NOS tubes are NOT included, and will come with the stock primaluna tubes.

Based in Enfield, South Australia for pick up. Happy to ship interstate, with shipping fees included.

Feel free to reach out for any questions, or to discuss any other items I am selling, including a pair of PS Audio M1200 monoblock amps which were hooked up to make magic.

A great Pre and a good price. And still has remainder of W/ tee as Magenta honour  it in Australia.

Couldnt agree more!  One of the best tube preamps I've heard esp at the asking price and the tube stash in the pics

I notice that the listing is with the stock Primaluna tubes.

Are the NOS tubes still available with it?

I  am new to the Prima Luna pre amp

Can you pls tell what are NOS tube ?

do you buy them in a set ?

how much are they ?

do they really improve sound quality that is audible ?

"NOS" stands for "New Old Stock", which means that the tube has never been used and is from old production. Being out of production, they tend to be rare and expensive, Genalex 749s are worth a few thousands.

Hi @Z28. Thanks to @Yuval007 for throwing an answer.

I'm no expert regarding tubes, to echo many opinions out there, NOS tubes can make a big difference to the sound. Not all NOS tubes are equal, and often it is a matter of trial and error and tailoring certain NOS tubes to what works in your system.

Certainly there are very popular tubes out there that carry hefty price tags with it, but there are tubes available for every budget out there. In my experience, it often requires a lot of patience, which is part of the journey I guess.

Overall, the primaluna evo 400 is certainly a great preamp which in my experience helped me explore the differences that tube rolling can do. Hopefully that answers your question

IMO you don't have to spend bid dollars o some nos tubes

ie check out nos organ stock cheaper than current tubes and great value try Tctubes US based Watford UK start googling and it will be a big learning curve, also Mullard for example foreign made tube same specs way cheaper, the doesn't matter often same tube different name and lastly listen to what you have they are great sounding out of the box. Enjoy strap in and hang on.

Good luck with the sale.  I have its little brother ,the 300 and its fantastic.    I will be selling a PrimaLuna Dac100 soon that pairs beautifully with the preamp,so just thought I'd throw that in.

Certainly dont want to derail your sale but if someones after a great pre and a dac then heres an opportunity

The only difference between the evo300 and 400 is XLR for long runs. Otherwise wasted money.
