So close to pulling the trigger on this.  Native Multi-Channel DSD output via HDMI, Apple Hi-Res support without jumping through many hoops such as needing iPads, cables etc.

Does anyone know if it supports native Deezer connectivity?

Andy from Chi-Fi just responded to say it does.

Is that website legit?  No ABN or physical address listed.

I currently have an ifi neo stream and am wondering how the a6 compares to the neo stream. I like the neo stream but I’m not a big fan of having to use Roon. Does anyone else here have a neo stream who might be thinking about moving to the a6?

I have the Zen Stream which I think sounds great and I’m wondering if this would sound better? , don’t need the DAC though

The unit is available from the official Zidoo store (this brand is actually Zidoo)  on AliExpress also, perhaps thats where Melb Chi-Fi is sourcing their units from, thus the delay

Ive seen a couple of negative comments here surrounding ASR.

Although measurements are not the be all, I certainly do look at how well a unit has been built and engineered, as par of a buying decision making process, to dismiss this role isn't really being objective.

From my perspective, the problem with the HI Fi industry over the years is that there is a certain amount of mystery that can lead to a lot of $$$ being made on sometimes dubious claims. I for one am glad that websites like this can take the likes of very expensive pieces of equipments and reveal their (at least engineering) shortcomings, as well as reveal some  real value propositions.

Id trust that over the likes of WHAT HIFI reviews and alike.

Also too in this internet age a lot more people are buying online, its become the norm for every type of product, so these sites help shape a more informed decision in that process.

I for one would be happy to order listen then make my own mind up, after reading a lot of information from multiple sources.. yes agree that you should take  any claims with a grain of salt, but that is what critical thinking is for.

Ill try it and If its not for me then move it on.  This might sound lazy or against a stereo enthusiasts bible of loving a good demo session, but id rather do that then spend countless hours  tracking off to hifi shops and then have the auditioning sessions (quite frankly id rather have my teeth pulled out), but that’s horses for courses…

<rant over>      :)

@Crakers - I don’t use the neo as a DAC, I only use the streamer. I have a Hermes DDC connected to a Pontus II via I2S. I’m wondering if the streamer on the a6 is better than the neo.

Yep very similar to me , I use the Zen stream into  Iris DDC into Pontus 2  and am looking at higher quality streamers , I’m beginning to think the Eversolo would be a sideways move for me maybe

I am guessing that the Zen could be slightly better? Plus, you will be paying for the DAC and analog circuitry that you will not use...

If you want to make your Zen perform like a high end streamer, use this instead of the DDC!

@Crakers which streamers are you looking at? I had the zen prior to buying the neo. I have to say, the neo was big step up compared to the zen. I liked the zen a lot, but instruments and voices sound more fluid and natural with the neo. I’m pretty impressed with the build quality of the a6.

Nah.

I was initially very keen but sanity took over and I will now wait and see how these devices go, out in the wild and what quirks they may have.

Yes.

I think the gold trim releases endorphins which calm you at the end of the working day and also relieve those work related stress headaches.🤗

Wow - You can't even get the original and Master edition is already out!

Possibly in the Asian or it seems the euro market , both maybe available , also could be a geographical thing - the master edition might be deemed not viable to sell here ?

I’m about to press the button on the Std edition at their AliExpress store, the say delivery 01-jun.  Something to replace my Gustard x-16.
