or that Merlot is any good 😜

Not one for Great Debates, But, I’m just glad I stopped drinking before Prosecco followed cracked pepper dispensing waitstaff and ruined restaurants.
And it doesn’t matter what cable I’m listening to, I can tell the difference between Prosecco and something worth drinking in a blind test.

Glib attempt to be on topic.

but to me this type of comment comes across as the audiophile version of the quintessential teenage ‘whatever’

Pretty sharp analogy here.   👍

But I actually quite enjoy both Prosecco and black pepper.

But ... yeah, I get it too.

I just asked what was the basis for your statement that "solid core would attenuate high frequencies".

Whats wrong with that???

Good that we have science to debunk such mythology!

Do those posters ever return to SNA to post another question?

Usually not or only very rarely.

These types of questions are money for old rope with the many people who know just enough, but not very much.

What could be more fun to that type, than posting a question possessed of full knowledge that all they have to do then is to sit back, relax and watch the inevitable arguments.

To the non enthusiast it must be delirious fun.

hello again
The cables and their quality: is not a problem, it is not critical for audio experience, just some differences as little that you can ignore 'cause you don't notice them.
The osciloscope will show differences.
The blind test and the same test practiced by 25 persons, will show interesting results, but the test should consider: the age of the participant, how has been the participant's life in the last 5 years (their job, hobbie or syile of music), the degree of humidity in their ears, the size of their skull and nose, . .. even so, when 20 participants say Cables matter, consider they are forcing in their own way their brain, the idea and their perception of acoustics. (like the National Geographic mental games).
Cables matter: for the quality ans aestethics ! really I've seen the difference using, connecting, touching their materials,
-  better brand and maybe more price, is better than 2 dollar cables. (difference I've seen it, not heard it)

Yes, the cheapest cables may look cheap. Also they may be less physically robust, and therefore more easily damaged.
