Further Information: As one of only a few pairs of Vienna Acoustic's flagship model in the country, a used pair in superb condition is a unique opportunity for someone after end-game speakers that actually sound like real music! Many members will be aware of VA's entry models, well regarded for their superb craftsmanship, musicality and bass energy for the size. However with drivers and technology unique to this model and a price tag of $49,995 "The Music" is in a totally different league. Apart from 3 larger 9" versions of their better known proprietary X3P "Spider-Cone" bass drivers extending to 22Hz, they include a uniquely flat 7" "Spider-Cone" midrange driver with coincident 1" handcoated silk dome tweeter and 1/2" Murata supertweeter extending to 100KHz as a means of flattening treble response. With a sensitivity of 91dB and 6 ohm nominal impedance it's not hard to achieve high SPL, but their massive bass capability and potentially huge, open soundstage means they will benefit from a powerful amp with good bass control.

The advanced technology evident in their drivers, crossover and cabinet construction extends to more than the usual ability to fine-tune this model spatially and tonally, to suit various system, listening position and room characteristics. The upper enclosure with coaxial mid/treble drivers is decoupled from the lower bass  enclosure and features calibrated vertical and horizontal dispersion angle levers. The rear bass enclosure has switchable level controls for midrange, upper bass and low bass. Anyone following the detailed owner's manual instructions should be able to optimise performance in a variety of situations.

If I had the funds and space to keep just one pair of front-firing cone speakers (as opposed to omni-directional German Physiks) out of the many I've owned, this would be the pair. Speakers are very personal, both in performance and aesthetics. To me, these are the most beautiful, both sonically and visually in rosewood and black. I'm not sure if my photos do them justice.

I have the original wooden crates, but one word of warning: they are the deepest speakers I've had at 630mm and 82 kg each, so require careful handling.

The Music are amazing speakers - definitely summit fi territory. Very good buying here. If only I hadn't pulled the trigger on something else recently 🤔

Agreed, ‘The Music’ model speakers are beyond a doubt a wonderful sounding high end speaker and easily out perform SQwise many more popular and sought after models of various brands at twice their new RRP. They are a worthy flagship model and are in a whole different league to any other VA speaker as you would reasonably expect, at this asking price, they are in my opinion a bargain.

My guess is few people have heard The Music in action, but many will judge incorrectly based on hearing other VA speakers.

GLWTS.

cheers

With the right amplifier, it is the top sound for classical music, and excellent jazz performance.  Well, I believe 90% of the VA speakers are quiet nice. Good price and good luck for sale.

These are supposed to be a contender in the hi end world.

Absolute bargain for someone & I am an ex owner of hiend Tannoys.

Also alot of people I know don't like Magicos or Tannoys.

I can't image why you would sell these as Vienna is a quiet achiever.

Personally I think you should move the Tannoys out of the way & listen again to the Vienna but I guess it's about the music you play.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments. Terry your comments are absolutely spot on. Those who've liked lower VA models could never imagine how much better "The Music" is. IMO they sound more natural than the more commonly acknowledged high end brands at $50K.

For the record, some of the photos were taken at a friend's place. I personally prefer the VAs to almost all the speakers you see in the two locations, including the Tannoys and Magico A3s which they dwarf. I would prefer to sell all the others that I own and keep the VAs, but I need as much as I can raise in a hurry and IMO the VAs are worth the most. Being so rare on the used market, I figured they should appeal to a discerning listener.

I stuffed up.

I was writing another email and my cut and paste went south.
