Again in roughly 90% of tracks Qobuz has a higher and more enjoyable SQ over the various Tidal versions, but not always.
Plus as others have said Tidal has a larger library, it’s not unusual to find some albums from an artist on Qobuz and others only onTidal, that can get a little frustrating.

I have and will gladly keep both suppliers, both have their strengths and weaknesses, but even paying for two subscriptions per month it works out far more cost effective than buying just one poorly recorded / pressed Album from JB Hifi per month.

cheers,

Terry

I tried both on free intro subscriptions and then paid for both for probably six months or more. I eventually dropped Tidal as I found that I used it rarely.

One of the biggest differences for me that a Qobuz Sublime account provides the capability to pay for, download and keep locally stored content at often significant discounts. I'm suspect that part of this is satisfying the 'collector' in me but if I find something I really like I do want to own a local copy for ever.

Hi all, bit of a sidestep but after reading about Spotify being jerks I am going to drag my family (kicking and screaming) to either tidal or qobuz. User interface etc has always meant Spotify was the go to service.

I’ve read about both of them and it seems Tidal is better for paying artists, is this correct? This is less about SQ and more about putting my money somewhere it will help artists.

Cheers,

Andrew

The sole purpose of streaming is to cheat performers out of a fair price

I don’t buy cds anymore and use Qobuz

But it can’t be defended

Top tier Tidal Family $36/mnth.

Top tier Qobuz Family $18/mnth.

Tidal app better than Qobuz. Qobuz app "clunky" for lack of a better word.

Qobuz sound can be better but will depend on your equipment anyway.

We chose Tidal for the app. But Tidal app not as good as spotify.

Both have free trials.

I guess it’s the lesser of two evils, I will never get my family away from streaming. I think I’ll go qobuz, at least that way I can buy FLACs.

I wonder how that money gets fed back to artists?

What's so great about the Spotify app? Are you talking about usability on a phone?

I have a Spotify subscription (for convenience in the car) but don't care for the app when I've used it at home.

I use Qobuz with Roon for most home listening and think it kills Spotify for SQ, functionality, look and ergonomics.

I found Spotify app slightly glossier looking, but mainly I think it delivered more like songs in its algorithm.

That's just my take on it.

My ears aren't good enough now to hear any difference between the latest SQ offering from Qobuz and Tidal. I like the Tidal app better. It is that simple for me.

I'm glad you are happy with what you are doing. Go for it.
