While many laptops have multiple USB outputs for digital music transmission to external DACs, some high-end DACs lack a direct USB input due to weak signal quality. The U18 is a buffer between the laptop's USB output and high-end DAC's digital input and re-clocks the signal to reduce jitter before analogue conversion. It matches the quality of Yulong's Sabre reference series and pairs perfectly with the Yulong Sabre D18 32-bit DAC.
