Falcon 500 Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 I want to start off by stating I did not receive any money or have any association with the Erzetich brand.I have been listening to my electrostatic/valve set up for over 15 years and wanted to try some planar headphones.Tried a couple of totl which I will not name but none did anything for me.Not long after I found a review and some interesting comments on the Erzetich Charybdis and decided to give them a try after going to their website. Will divide my impressions as follows Treble:Natural, airy if required in the recording and no sibilance. Mids-Organic and enjoyable Bass & Sub bass-Tight,tuneful and balanced . The soundstage is huge which I thought it would be considering the size of the drivers but most importantly I find it to be a very muscial enjoyable headphone.
Ehrmantraut Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 Any updates on your listening experience? Which amp are you pairing them with? Thanks.
Falcon 500 Posted May 28, 2024 Author Posted May 28, 2024 Hello Neil still enjoying the ERZETICH CHARYBDIS if anything I think the sub bass has improved since they came out of the box.I connect them to a Audio GD master 19 which has plenty of watts to drive them if anything its overkill as people are running portable amps to drive them as well as valve amps like the Cayin H3 A with great results. Don't see myself trying any other planar its that good of a all round headphone for any type of music.
Ehrmantraut Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 I've heard they're easy to drive but may scale well with an amp like the AGD19. Glad to hear you're still enjoying them. Classy HP.
Falcon 500 Posted May 28, 2024 Author Posted May 28, 2024 If your thinking of your next Planar you should definitely consider this you might be in for a surprise . 1
