Further Information: 

Exemplar Audio 2A3/45 switchable SET powr amps built by John Tucker. Running 2A3 tubes now, can be simply swapped out for 45 tubes instantly.

Beautiful Macassar ebony enclosed chassis's.

 

power tubes: 2 x vintage RCA USN CFC 2A3 (tested at 85% and 91% with Roe Test)

driver tubes: 2 x Russian 6H1N-EB (tested at 100% with Roe Test)

Power tubes are direct coupled with no capacitors in the signal path. Film capacitors in the circuit are a power supply decoupling cap for a series regulator to reduce ripple and therefore noise..

power output is 3.5W before clipping into 8 Ohm.

input sensitivity to full output 1.2V RMS.

input sensitivity 250K Ohm.

quality components used in the build including Magnaquest Cobalt output transformer, V cap and Mundorf caps used.

Amps and tubes have been checked to be in very sound condition and ready for a new appreciative owner. Amps have that single ended purity and sound very well balanced and musical.

 

This a very affordable way to taste some single ended 2A3 or 45 tube magic for owners of efficient speakers.

I used to own the matching Macassar ebony Slagle Autoformer pre (the better Slagle with the flying leads).  

 

The Macassar is real solid Macassar not a veneer and looked beautiful in the flesh.

 

These will be great amps.

I had the pleasure to listen to them hooked up to efficient full range speaker and I was blown away by how musical they are.

Firm lows and just beautiful mid range.

They would not disappoint that is for sure.
