Is there an ideal volume I should be setting the sub to, before doing room calibration? On my old sub I left the dial half way, but I’m not even sure if that was ideal.

The volume defaults to 40 and can be set as high as 60. What’s with 60 as a maximum, anyway? I’m curious if there is some reason for that.

I suggest changing the Volume Display in the Settings from Normal to Relative.

Right now I have mine set to -21dB (Relative) which would be equivalent to 39dB (Normal).

I’ve been in contact with Selby who have been in contact with Tonewinner. This morning I sent through a video of the issues I was having with the app and tonight the update is already out! Pretty impressive. Does seem like there was an issue with the version that came out last week when used with older firmware.

Immediately after updating the app worked flawlessly and I was to update firmware etc.

hi mates, sorry i can add to much as mine are still in boxes but i have read from other users when T.W. are informed of a problem with the app they do get onto it quite quickly.

if looking for a Tonewinner D-6000 sub and dont mind a demo model (last D-6000 left in store) call Nathan at Selby Thorngate Vic. no freight, pick up only. you might be a happy camper.

Assuming you mean Thornbury?

Interesting that they would be selling their demo model. Does that mean a new model is coming, or am I reading too much into it?

It wasn’t really setup in a proper room at Thornbury, so they could just have decided it’s not worth having it sit there.

Thornbury store closing down. Pity they don't sell svs, I'd buy the SB-3000 if the price was right

the store is closing to consolidate things from my information too do with the work force they have.

my thinking is they maybe will look to expand to NSW with a single store, cant see the need for 2 stores in a state.

svs were on sale recently and there is a SB3000 for $1600 2nd hand on F.B marketplace.

Was visiting Adelaide today so popped in Selbys to audition. They only had a D6000 hooked up, but like everyone else, I was pretty impressed.

I tried to asking about a discount on a single sub, however, they wouldn’t budge because I’d need shipping to Sydney.

Well that means I got lucky since I asked their online sales and received 15% off on a single D6000 without much hassle shipped to WA.

Not sure how to feel buying blind but since my Axiom sub died, don't have much choice.

and that what gets me mad, when you go to one store and get something that another does not get. nothing against Dan of course, 15% was there original pre order special deal so well done but... any chain store should have the same deals no matter where it is. they give a blanket free shipping over $29 so discounts are separate to that.

been quite annoyed at the price gouging they did when the d8000 pro/d9000 came out and even though they have dropped the price around $800+ its still way above the usual/special of Summit Hifi. yet the other models are cheaper here!

anyway just a rant.

Yeah that was quite a rant. Those new models D8000/D9000 are much bigger and a bit heavier than the previous so that's going to go a long way towards getting them shipped to Australia and then around the country for extra cost.

So I did some research and brokedown Spec of Tech's measurements to give a simulation of what Tonewinners anechoic results may look like for comparison purposes.

Cool. I'm running my D8000 sealed and it still impresses me after a few months. It's one of the things I most like about it like the bigger SVS subs, that one can run it either ported or sealed.

Yea, I really like all the Modes and Tuning options available. To be able to have a Sub thats so versatile. For Movies or Music with the flick of a button on you phone app. And to quickly turn up or down the Sub volume based on the content is huge.

Im rebuilding my 7.2.4 system and plan on replacing my current Sub (SVS PB12 Plus/2) + L.C.R (Paradigm Studio 60v5 & CC-690v5) + Receiver (Onkyo TX-NR1030).

And at the top of my list for my budget are 2 Tonewinner D6000's.

I’m assuming it was a freak coincidence, but I emailed Tonewinner last night asking if they could add an option to disable the subwoofer display. About 30 minutes later I was playing around in the app and a new firmware appeared to enable this very feature!

For me it was causing a slightly distracting reflection on my projector screen so it’s nice that it can now be turned off.

I also see that there is a front page review here which seems quite positive.

Very happy with my purchase of two D6000s.

I cant post a Sub if I dont have any numbers on it. There are no measurements ive found for the D2000. Thats why its not on my list.

Any updates from Users running 2X D6000 thinking of moving on from Dual F113 but not sure.

also can the feet be removed and can I add the SVS Isolation feet ?

thanks.

Yes the SVS isolation feet fit perfectly. There are six feet on the D6000. Can’t remember if it used the same thread size as my old SVS sub, but if not the isolation feet package included the right ones.

As mentioned previously I bought two D6000s. Haven’t really done much measurement of them, but REW does show a very flat response.

I’ve been listening to a lot of music paired with my KEF Q Concerto speakers and they blend in well. They work great at both low and high volumes.

The app has a lot of options but for me once I had things set up I don’t typically need to go in and adjust things. I’m happy that they added the option to disable the screen recently as it was a little distracting to me.
