betty boop Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 Hi Al - perhaps the remote app for the iPhone may act as a remote control for the older Apple TV? I've never used one, but could be a simpler solution for you - especially if you're streaming music to it (though it has a HD so perhaps the music is stored there?) cam your the man ! the $30 display from hong kong arrived but didnt even work ! what a waste of time. but cam your idea of using remote app on the iphone/ipad to control the apple tv worked a treat even my wife is amazed as can control it from her iphone anyways am very pleased with end result of apple tv feeding the 2ch setup with iphone giving full album art and control at finger tips have about 200 cds loaded on the apple tv, but might take the movies and photos etc off it and keep it music only. I hooked up from the apple tv straight to the luxman's digital in via optical. sounds very decent this way.

All else was sold on the local market at some stage, most owned for many years since new and now superseded so not something find for sale on local market anymore, maybe try second hand if something specifically looking for

Though not sitting still, while yeah most of my gear clocking up the years and been with me for quite a while. a couple of items though due for update, one due in a month or so and another in months to follow. quietly keeping the excitement under wraps

You end up looking at pictures longer than you should, then your wife asks what you are staring at... ...sometimes I get the urge to say a pic of Rachel Weisz as it just seems more appropriate. Back on track.. Al when your kids move out can I come live with you so I can enjoy your equipment too? 2

betty boop Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 so couple of weeks down the track have placed some impressions of the musical m8pre fully balanced pre amplifier in the review sub forum, http://www.stereo.net.au/forums/index.php?/topic/64812-musical-fidelity-m8pre-fully-balanced-pre-amplifier/ the m8pre now well ensconced in the system So overall the m8 pre has settled in nicely in the system over the last couple of weeks I feel...very very pleased. As a pre amp still a few more things to explore...playing with the balanced side of things ... and mucking around with power amps...but more of that later in months to come 2
