Malcolm Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I think it is the hifi store in HK for the Genesis dealer. Tuff gig I think the chair is more timeless Cheers 2
Hergest Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I think the chair is more timeless Cheers Yes, it is rather nice. As long as my ears were above the wings of the headrest i reckon that would do me very well indeed.
analog brother Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 (edited) techdas af1 is only thing i like in that room. imagine listening to those speakers at 1,.. 2am? yes. useless. just like techdas with no arm Edited February 15, 2014 by analog brother
analog brother Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 leigh is onto something.. would be great on the deathstar - in space where nobody can hear you...
Newman Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 As long as my ears were above the wings of the headrest i reckon that would do me very well indeed. Excellent point. Here we have a very high end demo room and if your ears are below the top of that headrest, which would be normal, it will pretty much ruin the experience.
andyr Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Phase Linear 400 from the famous Bob Carver. How does it sound? Like absolute cr*p, Shane! (Unless you like the sound of dentist drills. ) Andy
Malcolm Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 (edited) Western Electric, thought about building mine the same way ,still might ? Edited February 16, 2014 by Malcolm 1
Newman Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 urgh Looks like the sort of thing I would do.
Steam Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 What is this? I love it. Looks like something dr franenstein would have. Igor would shamble over and flick the power on. Who cares what it sounds like - it would look very cool. 1
tygersmoke Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 More from the Marantz vault; 2130 'scope tuner. 1
Guest Karl Rand Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 The Genesis Dragons are timeless and look frigging superb!! And if we take that shot as any indication only one person can hear them properly.

Jeff65 Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 (edited) The rack mount valve amps are made by Line Magnetic. I don't think they are exact clones of Western Electric Theatre amps, but they are made to look like them. More here: http://www.toneimports.com/lmaudio/lmaudioHome.html I think they look fantastic. Yeah, I agree. There's probably a degree of bling and artifice there, but that seems to be par for the course these days. This gear certainly looks intriguing and tempts me to look into it further.

This gear certainly looks intriguing and tempts me to look into it further. You may be right, but I'm not too sure about the bling and artifice. Line Magnetic take their Western Electric worship very seriously. Check out the 22A horn and 555 field coil compression driver replicas on this page: http://turned-onaudio.co.nz/speakers/line-magnetic-audio/ It wouldn't surprise me at all if everything in that amplifier rack were functional.
elcamry Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 How would you explain them to the wife though ?
monaro8 Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Simple...just say you found it on the nature strip...... 1
