Teee Posted January 19, 2024 Posted January 19, 2024 (edited) What's the one record or disc you put on to show your rig off in all it's glory, especially when a friend comes around for a listen? This is not about the artist or song, both could be awful, just what makes your system shine. Edited January 19, 2024 by Teee
Teee Posted January 19, 2024 Author Posted January 19, 2024 Mine are: CD Tears for Fears The seeds of love. Sounds absolutely epic. 1989 Fontana Disc 5 1
Teee Posted January 19, 2024 Author Posted January 19, 2024 (edited) Vinyl : This is a much harder choice, I have many that are incredible but the one I've picked is a pretty beaten up old peice of vinyl I paid $1 for at a junk sale. A departure from his earlier work and a bit of a sales flop but sonically it sounds superb. Elton John Ice on Fire Little Rocket Record Company 1985 Edited January 19, 2024 by Teee 2
Teee Posted January 19, 2024 Author Posted January 19, 2024 Equal first in my vinyl collection is probably Bad, Michael Jackson. Thunderous bass, sounds amazing. Bought this new as a kid in 1987 3
Raphcat Posted January 19, 2024 Posted January 19, 2024 The Analogue Productions remastered 45 RPM Vinyl pressings of: Muddy Waters - Folk Singer Kenny Burrell - Midnight Blue Simply amazing. 6

POV Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 When friends come over and want to listen I ask them what they want to listen to. 3 1
Teee Posted January 21, 2024 Author Posted January 21, 2024 Ok, what about when you're home alone and you want to hear that one track/album that floats your boat?
AvSat44 Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 I can only think of Abbey Road. Probably not the best recording ever but I love it! 1

FR DRew Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 Paul Simon: Graceland has a great mix of male and female vocals, soundstage, bass, dynamics, acoustic instruments etc. Hard to go past when it comes to showing what a good system can do. For floating my boat, my two faves are both guitar solo pieces: Joe Satriani: "Always With Me, Always With You" from Surfing With The Alien and Frank Zappa "Watermelon in Easter Hay" from Joe's Garage The better a system gets, the further into the skilled musicianship and technique you can hear, on both pieces which are totally different from each other, but both amazingly beautiful. 4
joz Posted January 22, 2024 Posted January 22, 2024 Been a favourite of mine since it came out. A fist full of genres that will make your system sing, well most tracks will. 4
