bs44 Posted February 15, 2024 Posted February 15, 2024 Hi, I'm working on a side project which will involve running 4x sets of stereo stems out of my DAC's balanced outputs (via a patchbay), and into the 4x stereo line inputs of a DJ Mixer, which only has RCA connections for the analog line inputs. The dj mixer does have a balanced XLR main output though. So the issue is, my DAC's outputs are roughly about 25-30 feet of cable length to the dj mixer. So what would be the best method to connect the two over that distance?
audiofeline Posted February 15, 2024 Posted February 15, 2024 From my (admittedly limited) knowledge on XLR's, there is no benefit in XLR-RCA compared to RCA-RCA (there is benefit in XLR-XLR over distance). I would think that the distance you are running the cable would have too much loss for a "RCA" cable, even if they were low capacitance. 1
Decky Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 You can run them at any length, as long as it is shorter than 3m (10ft).
