Don’t miss out on this opportunity!! Can not get this amp anywhere at this price.

Selling my Rega Aethos amplifier. A truly beautiful amp. May be a regretful sale but I have decided to downsize my whole system. Numerous 5 star reviews out there on the Aethos, don’t miss a bargain.

Purchased new December 2022 from Addicted to audio VIC- RRP $6995

Shipping Australia wide included in price.

My end game amp. Highly recommended, very musical, huge power and control.

Made in England with love and care.

Mine is going to the grave with me.

Ha ha ha. I wouldn't sell mine because it has brought me so much joy and even if I consider changing speakers in the future, the Aethos wouldn't have a problem driving most hungry speakers out there. Specially since prices have gone up so much.

Unlike multichannel amps, a great Stereo amp like this one will hold it's ground for a long, long time. And this is a really good one, pure analogue joy and no gimmicks.

It is such a solid piece of gear with Rega's Life time warranty.

Your price is pretty good if you still want to sell of course. Good luck 🙂

That really does sum up the Aethos perfectly - we have an Aethos in the showroom paired with a Rega Saturn MK3 and together they produce such wonderful, enjoyable sounding music that I will NEVER tire of.

Out of interest, what speakers have you been partnering this amplifier with?

I have used it with a few different ones actually - Wharfedale lintons , Dynaudio SP40 and most recently a pair of Richter Special edition speakers - All different in sound and sensitivity but the rega drove them all with ease and sounded good with all of them.

I have my Aethos paired with a pair of PMC Twenty5.21. Here are some words from the AVForums review by Ed Selley, using either the Kudos Titan 505 or PMC Twenty5.21i.

"As yet another demonstration of the nature of product synergy, the story with both the PMC twenty5 21i and Kudos Titan 505 is different and the Aethos really shows what it can do. The same big and composed presentation and the consistent ability to deliver even very complex passages of music with an unflappable sense of order is still here and the Rega exerts a grip on both of these speakers that is deeply impressive. The change is that these speakers lend a fractional sweetness to the Aethos that has you wanting to listen at length and make use of that prodigious headroom. It’s the difference between sitting there and thinking “this is a bloody good amp” and sitting there and uttering a single word. Four letters. Rhymes with duck."

What does a Ford Cortina have to do with this amp? Read on…

Very nice. I also have a pair of Twenty5.22 (not "i" version) but paired with a Rega Elicit-R. Haven't tried them with the Aethos. The match I think is pretty good between Rega and PMC, the warmth of Rega mixes really well with the crispness of PMC.

I really think is wonderful.

I recently listened to the twenty5 24i speakers and they were awesome. PMC make nice speakers.

Hi Mark, is this still available?  I'm currently using the Elicit-R and looking for an upgrade and this seems like a good offer.  I'm assuming there are no faults with it and it is in full working order?  Out of interest though, are there any scratches on it at all?  Did I also read correctly that shipping is included? Is that applicable only to VIC as I live in NSW?   Thanks, David

Now that the weather is back to "Hi-Fi normal coolness", I fired up my Aethos last night and ohhhh what a pleasure it was to have this beauty back on.

Can't wait to get back home this afternoon.

I own both of these amps and love both in two separate set ups. The Aethos volume operates in a different way (not step by step) and the pre-amp section runs on class A, so it will feel a little warmer than the Elict-R.  Good space around it is recommended.

The headroom for the Aethos feels like it can keep going forever, but I have never gone past above 11 o'clock.

They are both absolutely wonderful machines. Both with the same Rega house sound.

One last thing, prepare to pick up the Aethos with a lot more muscle and not both hands, but both arms. It is an incredibly solid machine.

Does it get really warm like a Sugden A21a?  I'd say they're more hot than merely warm.

It gets warm  but not too hot to touch or anything - it uses class A pre amp. I had it running for hours at a time at medium levels - I used a temperature gun and it never went over 41 degress.

The Aethos is not a pure class A amp, so it really does not get abnormally hot. It is just a little bit warmer than your standard Clas A-B amp, a little bit warmer than the Rega Elicit-R (Class A-B) etc.

But nothing like a full class A amp because it is not.

Thanks for the clarification.  I have heard it described as class A but I was skeptical.

As I said earlier it uses a class A pre amp. All info about the amp on Rega website.

It is nothing to worry about. Also remember that Rega uses the case to dissipate heat and I like this approach as it also leaves the internals free from dust etc. bringing longevity to the unit.
