I get why both of you like the sound of the Oppo 105, particularly if modded.  But to continue clinging onto a 3rd rate App is what I do not understand?  Nostalgia for favorite hardware is one thing, but hanging onto a clunky app ??? :hmm: 😢

That's when it is the only one available to access remotely full functions in the 105, make senses to use use another a streamer to the 105 dac but at this stage I strem sporadically.. by the way I'll try to connect via Ethernet or with a faster adapter as the factory one is too slow ..

Android 14

That is most likely reason why the Oppo Media Control App stopped working suddenly a few months ago for you.

Android 14 sorted out, k*ll*d , plenty of dodgy apps

I'm reading here to see what happened to the oppo media control app

I plugged in my Full modded JLTi tonight after sitting for a few years.

I downloaded the app and it won't install

After reading the chats here, obviously there is a problem as i mentioned above, and it is not just me

If I get a fix I will let you know,  it is a matter of updated the app background code so it complies with android 14.

Just a heads-up that the Oppo Media Control App is still available from the Amazon store. You will need to install on an older android phone or tablet as the latest version Android OS does not support it.

I've installed it on an old Samsung S5 (no SIM card - just wifi) and it works OK. The only thing I can't do is log onto Tidal. I get an error message saying username or password incorrect. I made sure I had logged off Tidal on my desktop PC first, but still no joy. Any suggestions from other Oppo BDP-105 owners or Tidal gurus?
