rotur Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 For those of you who have used the above site, not quite sure how it works...do you need to pre deposit into Paypal before you can bid? Have registered so what now? Want to check with a seller to see if they will ship here and at what cost, but no contact seller button visible. Dont want to buy an item to then learn that the shipping will be high. Ideas?
rotur Posted January 26, 2014 Author Posted January 26, 2014 Have now found the necessary details in the customer service section, but will not be bidding as there is no way to determine the extra 'handling fees and EAJ comission' over and above your final bids. Prefer to know where I stand before making any financial commitment and not get a nasty surprise at the end. For those who have used this site, how have you found this side of things after the purchase?
AudioGeek Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Rotur, I have used kuboten to source items from japan with great success. Tell them what you want and what price your willing to pay. They will check all the auction sites and local second hand shops. Also handle all shipping. I get them to test everything and sometimes organise upgrades/replacement parts. To me there fees are very reasonable considering the service they provide.

a.dent Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 EAJ are easy to use and will ship everything and anything. They are really agents who bid on your behalf, accept delivery of the item, repack it and send it to you. I have always found them to be 100% reliable and trustworthy. I had a TT that arrived at their warehouse that was defective. They secured a refund from the purchaser and refunded my money in full and did not ask for a fee for their service. You can calculate the commission, handling and shipping costs from their website. Of course if you import anything with a value over $1000 you "could" be up for import duty and GST. I have luckily avoided that so far.
