Audio-gd Reference 7 DAC USB Version - R2R & PCM1704UK Chips

Further Information:  I bought this on SNA over 12 months ago, with a wish to hear the legendary PCM1704UK Chips in action.  I enjoyed the sound and the music it makes  but it doesn't quite suit my system as I prefer balanced and a DAC with volume control.

 

Yes, it does have balanced outputs but the gain is not sufficient for my system.  Also, it requires a warm up period of 30 to 60 minutes.  As I don't normally leave equipment on when not using I was not always able to enjoy the music when I was intending.  As such, I am getting a different DAC to suit my needs.

 

The list of features in the design of this DAC is extensive so please follow the link.  The DAC comes with standard power cord.  I have the original box so can ship interstate but would definitely prefer pickup.

Yes, you do hear music straight away but the sound gets louder and the soundstage improves after warm up
