Further Information

I was fortunate enough to come across these speakers from a fellow SNAer, and I must admit, I'm reluctant to let them go. However, the announcement of a newer and improved version of my beloved Magico speakers has piqued my interest, and I'm considering offloading these to raise the necessary funds. The new speakers are pricey, but I've heard they're worth every penny. It's a tough decision, but I want to make sure I'm getting the best possible sound experience.

It's a shame they look at home in that room! Not many people would have that kind of space

In the Magico universe M-series provides the best possible sound experience. Used M6 for US$99K++ will outplay anything in S-series. We are both forever spewing we missed out on that M6 Estate sale in Perth.

Interesting. Wooden enclosure and paper cone drivers is so 1980's. 175kg each there must be a lot of lead damping inside. I've never heard of that speaker before.

No i had not heard of them until about 4 years ago and then done some research and bought as new second hand

pair of the stand mount EOS reference  elite.  Every one who came around said is that music coming out of those little speakers ,they were all astounded .  Then i came across the EPITOME reference towers from another SNAyer .

And now i'm  astounded and best part of all there made in Australia.

I"M pretty sure Greg Osborn used to work for Klipsch and he has been building his speakers since the 80s.

A lot of high end speaker manufactures are still using treated paper cones.

IF you want to take a drive down to here to Australind sometime and come and have a listen your more than welcome.

Regards Steve.

Actually, my apologies @AccuMagi, it's your thread - you can have the discussion here if you want to  (I somehow missed that you'd posted the question)

Thanks @audiohifiaudio! I'm curious to learn about any other speaker models you've encountered that support this observation.

It's all good! I was sincere about the question. I have listened first-hand to many speakers/setups which include high-end and ultra-high-end speakers over the last two decades and have always found Dynaudio and B&W share similar tonality which is very good for vocal and simple genres. For more complex soundstages with greater dynamic and transparency/clarity, my ears were not well received.

Perhaps I have an insufficient journey. 👍

In regard to the Steven @ McLaren HiFi's comment earlier, I know Greg Osborne and he has never mentioned any association with Klipsch. He was in the Victorian Police force but always had passion for speaker building. He set out on a project to build a better speaker than a highly regarded loudspeaker brand and was so encouraged by the result that he eventually left the force to concentrate on Osborne Speakers. The rest as they say is history.

Thanks for clarifying that it's just that i had or read both stories .

I stand corrected . Anyway his speakers are second to none.
