Border Patrol Dac in excellent condition.

Features the Jupiter Caps upgrade.

Vintage British Mullard EZ80 rectifier valve.

There are so many great reviews online and please just google them.

Switchable COAX and BNC SPDIF inputs.

Plays files up to 24/96kHz via USB or SPDIF(COAX) including TIDAL Master recordings.

The DAC features:

A non-oversampling (NOS), no digital filtering Phillips TDA1543 R2R DAC chip circuit with no output buffering.

A painted copper metal chassis.

A tube/solid-state hybrid choke input filter power supply featuring an EZ80 tube rectifier. (To our knowledge, BorderPatrol is the only company applying tube rectification and choke input filtering to digital circuits.)

Dimensions: W x D x H:9 x 7x 3in (226 x 173 x 78mm)

Shipping Weight: 8lb/4kg

The BP DAC is 4.5 years old and it has all the latest upgrades.

 

I am not sure of the current retail price in Australia, and so suggest you do some checking.

I think its about $3300-$3400 delivered according to someone in Melbourne who just recently bought one.

Big fat Jupiter caps, large transformers, big filter chokes, tube rectification, all copper chassis, and a NOS Phillips TDA1543 R2R chip with no digital filtering or upsampling!  Nice!
