Out of curiousity, were you provided an ETA on the verum 1 order?

December or even January on the Verum 2 is fine, October/November would be perfect though.

We were also talkk g about the Verum 1, I was thinking about the difference between the Verum 1 & 2 and that I might consider the Verum 1 also and wondered how different they are.

@MattyW ordered the Verum 1 as well as the Verum 2, I was wondering about delivery ETA on the Verum 1 and if there was built stock or built by order.

Apologies will re read the sequence of posts.

Mobile tech when I should be working and  the thread header is an absolute attention grabber ATM..

I guess you may end up with the best of both to suit musical genres 👍

$673k pledged and 16 hours to go. Be interesting to see if it can breach the $700k mark in that time. 🙂

Loving the progress reports even with less than 16 hours to go!

What is already done?

  • Laser cutting of headbands started
  • Frames for bending and further hardening are preparing for mass production
  • Sheespkin leather and latex memory foam are prepared for several thousands of earpads
  • Professional microphone cable is orders in bulk
  • 3.5mm connectors are ordered, xlr connectors in process
  • drawing for injection mould complete
  • Aquaprint film is ordered
  • Contact wires for membrane are in process

and numerous small but important steps.

I'm super keep to get my Verum I Mk2 and II headphones hey. I'll use the I Mk2 at work and the II here at home where I've a better headphone setup to drive it.  🙂

Looks like it's all systems go now 😀

Now we wait for our surveys to choose the colorway of the Verum 2's we want and any other options that may come about. I am most definitely keen on the ear caps etc. What a great feature to have the flexibility of open back or closed back.

I would like the Verum 1 Mk2's but will wait for tax time. No rush on those, as they will continue making them which is great.

@Garuspik is there an option for a case similar to the Verum 2 for the Verum 1?  That would be a nice option to be able to buy a case for the Verum 1's also.  Maybe if the Verum 1's fit in the same case as the Verum 2s the case can be sold as an accessory option?

@MattyW any update on the ETA of your Verum I?

I see the survey is now open for the colour choice on Verum II

I am torn between Pearl, Black and Red 😖

No, not a peep about the 1’s. I did ask and got silence in response. To be fair that’s the very response his site advises those asking for ETA’s will get. Annoying though.

Chose Pearl and XLR balanced connectors with respect to the 2’s

I am keen to hear your thoughts on the 1s when they arrive.

I am still eyeing them off but have other expenses in front of them that need attention so maybe in a few months - and after your thoughts on them.

Just putting my order in now. I will go the Pearl, and XLR cable also - I had to sleep on it! The Red if its like the current Mazda Red will be amazing IMO, but if its not I'd be disappointed as I am not really a huge standard fan of Red....Black is always safe but the Pearl is unique, so will go with it.

My wife liked the Green, my daughter the Pearl. I thought about the Green as it was a Kickstarter colour only, but I watched a few clips that had different colours in them from reviewers (Green, Red, Yellow and Pearl) and was able to get a pretty good look at them all, and I think once it arrives I'll be really happy with the Pearl.

I like the Pearl as I’ve never seen anything else like it….. And it looks rather classy rather than bling. I’m not a fan of bright collies really though the black just looks boring to me. I didn’t give much thought to the balanced cables as none of my amps use balanced though I’ve seen more online with TRS so figured it might be better for compatibility. 5 minutes of thought needed. ;)

I'd just discovered this thread. Verum 2 looks very interesting. I would like to order a pair. KS page has no slots left 😧

I'll just get another Abbas Esoteric DAC instead - new ✊

You might still need  a Verum 1 or 2.

Abbas does a nice looking headphone amp, straight from the DAC  into the Verum - Boom

Good thought about the Abbas headphone amp. Verum 2 is unavailable at the moment. I could run my Sennheiser HD650 off the Abbas headphone amp 👍

Coolio, my Verum 1 Mk2's ship the end of this week. I look forward to trying. It should make for an interesting comparison with the 2's when they arrive and in the meantime I can compare with the Monoprice Monolith M1060C headphones.  🙂

My experience having some friends who are Russian or Ukrainian expats is that they've a low level racisim underpins a lot of their humor so I put it largely down to cultural differences. Given many may not have travelled internationally and gained a different understanding of things I kind of get it. I think it says more that Igor took ownership of it and learned from the experience and apologized for it. Thats a definite positive in my books.

Yeah, that's toward the end of the article I linked.

You'll note some bad stuff he has said was post apology too  Edit 1: That might just be some people linking it post apology

Edit 2: Oh no he still at it post back handed apology.

This sums it: At the end of the day, the Verum Audio saga presents a moral question: Is it possible to separate the art from the artist? Or in this case, the headphones from their creator?

I find the above a struggle with some artists. I like or used to like their music, but then they go do some pretty grim stuff, makes it hard to keep supporting their art.

Meh, I don't care enough to be honest. Bit drama'd out already after the dCS debacle.
