Chewbacker Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 What are your thoughts about the upcoming series ? Personally I don't really care to even watch the 1st instalment given the overall family history. Cheers Chewie

Orpheus Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I like Shapelle and wholly support her and her claim of innocence. I not interested in media beat ups any kind, or crazy right wing opinions and assumptions..........and if anyone thinks this will be accurate to the facts will be dreaming. So, I won't be watching this Is this about right and left wing opinions? I don't claim to know whether she is innocent or not. I wasn't present at the trial. I don't know the evidence. I agree that this show won't shed much light on it. 2

Chewbacker Posted February 4, 2014 Author Posted February 4, 2014 Yes The Press hasn't really endeared me either over the whole affair. And I don't really know the diff between left and right wing politics - never really interested me . Chewie

Janjuggler Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 why is she even getting air time?? Hi The same reason Tony Mokbel, and all those other crime related shows do, there is an audience for it, though it does not mean thy are discerning .... JJ 4

Desap Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 The problem with these kind of programmes is that they NEVER give a balanced view, and I strongly suspect this one will be purely the Corby family version of events !!! Channel 7 is also well known for presenting such one sided trash and calling it "news" or "current affairs" 1
Chewbacker Posted February 4, 2014 Author Posted February 4, 2014 funny u should mention the other Aust shows. I haven't watched any of them !
bwhitesox Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 (edited) Yup! The Aussie audience is pretty sad in general, just need to look at the ratings these reality shows get to see how sad it is. Crap shows get Crap ratings, Simple as that and so it will be with this garbage about a garbage family. Edited February 4, 2014 by bwhitesox

Compared to what? At least we don't have a local version of Dance Mom's - yet . My daughter is addicted to it so I switch it off every time I see her watching it. Edited February 4, 2014 by turntable

Channel 7 is also well known for presenting such one sided trash and calling it "news" or "current affairs" You left out Channels 2, 9 & 10, all as guilty as the other (I only watch SBS for the sport so don't know about their news credibility). 1
Brendo09 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Anybody thinking that this will have any sort of relevance to the actual events is kidding themselves. It's a made for TV movie, based on an event that actually happened. I note a few posts above about the type of things that TV networks think Australians want to watch. We've almost given up as a family. News is out, nothing happy ever happens. There's enough crime drama's to sink an Indonesian fishing boat, or doctors telling you you could have a think that will kill you, or police highlighting that stupid gets you on telly, or my favourite, which came on as we sat down on Christmas Eve - Plane Crash Investigators. Nothing to spruce up your Christmas like learnign about why a planeful of screaming people exploded, killing them all and scattering their parts over a 15km stretch of remote coastline. Is this really what Australian wants? 1

Stump Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I think the showing date will coincide with her release. As for her claim of innocence? She did not put the cannabis in the boogie board bag ,but the FACTS show the cannabis going from Adelaide to her fathers property and the Father packed it into the space bag the shape of the boogie board. The step brother carried the boogie board to customs where Shapelle intervened when he was asked if it was his bag.Once you hear the facts you will know the family is Guilty as Charged. David.M Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 When was the family Charged? Someone in the family obviously had knowledge/involvement, the sad part is if it wasn't Shapelle then he/she stood on the sideline and watched their daughter/sister wear it & do the time.
