Shipped Speakers from Japan?

Like to know if anyone in this forum has shipped large speakers from Japan to Australia. If so,  what service did you use? The speakers I would like to get down is about 40 KG when put in one package. and I note that most shippers do not ship that weight.

First hand info from a colleague here would be  much much appreciated.

I've not done it from Japan, but I have from the USA: About 200kg of speakers.

 

It's not a particularly complicated process, you just need a freight forwarder who can handle the shipping and customs. I used Freight World Corporation Pty Ltd to do it for me. They organised a truck to pickup, ship to a port and then shipped them across the world for me. On arrival they handled all the import charges, then packed them on a truck and transported them to me.

 

You could call them and enquire as to costs, but I found them more than reasonable for the service offered and was very pleased at their communications.

i called Freightworld . Not available till monday . Thanks for this information. How long ago did you use them and what was the cost to get all those through including custom duties.

I would like to purchase an audio network switch from Melco Japan too. Maybe this topic could help me. So I just need to send them the website of the things that I want to buy then they reply the total money I have to pay then waiting until the product package delivered to my place? Thanks.

The duties depend on what you bought. What I paid isn’t really useful or relevant to your conversation.  I will say that two very large speakers was a lot cheaper than I expected all in.

No. This topic is for something you have already bought and need to ship to Australia. They are just freight forwarders not personal shoppers.

For OP, need to add Customs clearance fees (yes, you have to pay them to collect import duty and GST) and freight forwarder's fees.
