If you don't mind Chinese players I have the famous (or infamous) MHZS-88CDE.

Great machine in my opinion. Nor quite in the Wadia territory, but better than almost anything else other than absolute highest end.

It is at the bottom on my old (and not updated in years) for sale page, where there is a link to a Utube video.

Thx Roman, I'll have a look at it. The way I have my system set up it suits a toploader(sellers regret, I sold my Raysonic128, silly move) and I hadn't looked past the models I mentioned, the older Saturn would be ideal but I'm in no rush so I'll have a look at your vid later, cheers.

 

Edit: I've actually got  a tube output Shanling I bought from here a few years back but it's a front loader and it just doesn't suit.(so no probs with Chinese hifi at all)

I see the et3 seems to retail for $1600 at a couple of Australian outlets - but landed in Australia via eBay for under $1100 from us??? - no stock on Amazon - perhaps the cheaper version might suffice - no personal experience with the product

I started the WTB thinking I'd settle on an old Rega as they were and are a bullet proof bit of gear that looks the part too(not the new ugly box style they've gone to, ugly as ...) but I've since come across this and this looks the goods

Regrettably not mate. Sold it about 12 months back, but you know how it goes. I really shouldn't have done so. However I am amply soothed by the dulcet tones of the Electrocompaniet EMC 1 UP,which i purchased from @psychometrics1

I thought that was a never ever prospect, selling the Rega. Sellers regret niggles all the time. What did you replace it with?

My main concern is the weight ( or lack thereof ).

3.74 pounds,which is 1.5 KG
